On that note: the tune Clapton made into a hit- 'Cocaine', written by the late J.J. Cale.....
Cale shopped the song around along with some other great tunes. Cale had not one record company give him the time of day, when he tried to sale his tune Cocaine. He tried mercilessly to get any record company to produce his tune and LP. Clapton came along, asked Cale if he could record it, and with NO PROBLEM at all, it was immediately released and became a hit....odd....infamy knows no names....and is often blind....
At that time, I think everyone in the recording music business had a gram bottle of coke in their pockets, Hollywood/Tinsel Town was riddled with Nose Candy Addicts, and none wanted the exposure. Yet-Clapton and Jackson Browne both recorded songs about Cocaine. (Clapton covered Cales Tune, while Browne wrote his own)....both musicians went thru rehab over cocaine....nothing to balk at, a extremely large problem, in that time, and still to this day.....
Cut the head off the snake (cartels), only to see another Cartel step up, and take the dead snakes place, ie, Columbia no longer the threat it was in the 60s-90s, now Mexico is the Snake....
hell why am I saying this, Tote? You already know all this and more....LOL...
