Yes Network reports that the Yankees are close to acquiring Aroldis Chapman as per Jack Curry.

RHPs Caleb Cotham, Rookie Davis & INFs Eric Jagielo, Tony Renda. I'd say they fleeced the Reds on this one.

Wow.....!

definitely "fleeced" if not flat out stolen blind .....

Nobody should be upset with this trade from a Yankee point of view.

Not upset Frank I just don't understand it.

#1 Chapman is a closer & we have Miller.
#2 He's a FA after the 2016 season so we may have just given up a few decent prospects for a one year rental.

Andrew Miller and Dellin Betances are not going anywhere as per Brian Cashman.
Source: Jack Curry and Meredith Marokovitz.

...lol...^^^...not wearing any at the moment, Lil...just socks.

...the best BP in the game won't matter if the starters don't also deliver.
Yeah they need to get another starter......but who is left???

Oh, I see what the Trashman's up to!

Yankees have not one starting pitcher to go six innings
on a consistent basis, so he's decided that the plan is
pitch Chapman, Betances, and Miller sixth or seventh
through the ninth! Genius...........LOL!

With the way this team hits, who pitches extra innings?

Yee of little faith, like you said, wait for the other shoe to drop. This is just the first part,

You really want to laugh...........what took the Yankees
all year, it took the Cubs just six days. 2B Brendan Ryan
was released 12/23 by the Cubs six days after obtaining him
on 12/17 as the PTBNL trade of December 8th.

I just keep shaking my head at Yankee management.

...hey MB, how's it been going?

...actually, I was talking about the possibility of MLB suspending Chapman because of his recent connection with domestic abuse. We just don't know yet what, if any suspension will be handed down. And this is what made the Reds' asking price for him plummet.

...plus, aside from the bull pen, I have some concerns about the offense, defense, and starting pitching.

I have a gut feeling that Cashman is lying when it comes to saying he is keeping all three. It like Ainge with the Celtics, acquiring assets to move up when the right opportunity presents itself.

...yeah, the Yanx still need to made another move or two...but if they don't, and if they don't like their PS chances next year at the trade deadline maybe use Chapman, et al, as trade chips. That's the only explanation that makes sense to me. Otherwise, Chapman is simply a one year rental.

That's what I'm thinking Frank.

Really this signals that our rotation sucks and can't produce deep into games. Couple that to an aging and off injured offense and you have a recipe for a .500 team with a talented bullpen.

I'll wait for the axe to drop....Cashman can shove the shoe up his ass.

quick on the draw Doc......:biglaugh:~~! :cowboy:

On that particular transaction man for man the Yankees made a deal. In regards to Chapmans "baggage" could be the old comedians "What a revolin' development t this is. I'm still cursing Cashman for trading Warren & Murphy.

Sorry about that boss, lol! This is all just beyond maddening. If mgmt is okay with throwing money around without nary a plan (read as one that has discernable logic) why the hell not just bite the bullet and release the dead weight. Write the big check and move on.

You either waste a ton of money and time spreading the pain over 3 years or you rip off the bandage quickly, take the pain and move on. Cashman, beyond lacking imagination....his worst trait is his lack of courage. It's the one bad management trait I disdain the most.

Ok guys stop your bitching, we all know the Yankees will win the World Series in 2016. Remember folks you heard it here first.
