Nothing earth shattering yet; still waiting for them to put his feet to the coals and ask him how he's sure Patterson's story is right.

He did mention that a source told him Ferry won't consider the Blazers.

Didn't Ferry work with KP in SA?

I've heard that, but I don't know for sure. Berger's source said Ferry isn't wild about Portland's schools and he's reluctant to uproot his kids ... :dunno:

That makes sense. My kids blew through school in Portland, but here in Texas they have to work a bit harder for their A's

I really thought it would be easier here

In this situation, I can not believe I am about to type this, but I do not think that any of the local hacks except for Crapzano is up to the task of raking Berger over the coals. He wanted Patterson on his show the other day but Patterson declined knowing it would not be favorable for him. I expect Berger will decline a Crapzano interview as well. Odd turn of events as to who we can actually trust to ask the right questions, at least in my mind.

Send them to St. Mary's and then Jesuit like every other NBA type that comes through here.

Ferry's never heard of private schools? He went to Duke, for chrissakes. What, he's just going to stay in Cleveland indefinitely because of their public school system?

Patterson and Canzano have had a beef with each other for year's. Patterson would have been a fool to go on his show knowing that JC would be able to control the platform, and I doubt he'd like to do him any favors by upping his ratings or otherwise contributing to his livelihood.

I just want Brian T. Smith to dig in on this, he's a fairly neutral voice and wouldn't appear to have any dog in this fight (versus the Oregonian staff and the old Patterson regime).

You seem to have this habit of confusing people passing along information and stating opinions. Who knows why Ferry would or wouldn't want to come here? Does it really matter?

OK, I do agree here. Patterson has had a beef with all of the local hacks that were in Portland during his stint with the Blazers. I agree Smith would be a good neutral interviewer, but he would have to ask the tough questions that Crapzano would ask, ax to grind or not.

I stated my opinion on what was posted. I didn't address whoever posted it. Ferry not liking Portland's schools seems silly considering Jesuit is one of the top academic high schools on the west coast, and St. Mary's is also top-notch. Ferry went to DeMatha Catholic. Seems like an odd reason to not want to move to Portland. Am I not allowed to comment on it? I wasn't asking you the question; it was more rhetorical.

If the truth is on Patterson's side, it doesn't matter who is asking the questions, does it?

A good attorney can make an honest witness look like crap by asking the right questions. I imagine a good jounalist/interviewer can do the same.

Canzano and Quick were the main culprits in building up the myth of KP, I wouldn't expect either of them to tear down the facade they helped built up.

When a local report's main source isn't Mark Warkentien on this story you think they need to be "raked over the coals?"

Let me put it another way. Would you help somebody that you despise, further their career? Those two have a beef that goes back 8 years (Patterson was a douche and so was Canzano in my opinion) so I tend to think that personal agendas would drive the conversation more than anything else and we wouldn't get any answers. Brian Smith is a relative newcomer to the Portland media and wouldn't appear to have any personal feelings one way or another regarding KP, the organization and Patterson and he seems to behave like an actual reporter instead of columnist ... I'd just be curious to see what he could dig up.

I thought I asked you guys to stop making threads about this tool! I wish I could compare this person to somebody you guys know in your daily life. He knows nothing!

Well, sure, they've got to learn all that extra creationism and so on.

We believe you. Unfortunately we have no faith in any of the other media sources either.

Understood, just this cat has the same info that any of you have.

Haven't you said basically the same thing of every local media type that isn't employed by the Blazers?

So who exactly CAN we listen to?

Is it only people who are pro everything KP, or pro everything what the Blazers want us to believe?

Exactly. All due respect HCP, but from where I stand he has just as much credibility as you.

This is the guy that said Roy wasn't cool with KP because KP supposedly wanted Morrison over Roy. I then dig up information where Roy finds out McMillan wanted Morrison, and Roy laughs and says he's going to get on Nate for saying that.

Hard to believe anything this guy says. Barrett already has conformation from Allen that KP was in charge of the 2006 draft.

This guy is nothing.

What all of this hullaballoo is telling me is that there is a wide gulf within the Blazers organization, one pro-Pritchard and one anti-Pritchard. Both sides are exaggerating or minimizing his impact on the organization. Both sides are using their preferred outlets to get their side of the story across.

Yep. It's fucking shocking reading some of the posts on here.

2 days ago nobody but PapaG and HCP knew who this guy was.

Now all of us do and the majority ACTUALLY THINK THIS GUY IS LEGIT.

Wait a minute.... He works in PR? NOOOOOOOO WAY!!!!!!

You fucking mellons.

Either way Ferry "quit" his job because of a meddling owner. That doesn't bode well for Portland's chances, as if he's necessarily a great candidate anyways.

Trying to get over the KP firing, but when they finally hire the next guy(it's been months now, find someone already) it'll just piss me off because he won't be as good as KP.

Depends on what you mean by as good as KP.

Kp was bad at trading, and acquiring FA's. Apparently he was bad at negotiating contracts. Depending on who you believe, KP's drafts consisted of Oden, Bayless, Batum, Rudy, Koponen and Freeland. Or Aldridge, Roy and Sergio. Aldridge, Roy and Batum were all good picks, but what about the others?

The next GM could be Presti or West.....I don't think it will be, but it could be. How would they be worse?

"KP was bad at trading and acquiring FA's"

This certainly isn't my opinion. Same thing with his drafts. We'll just have to disagree on what happened there. I think I'll side with Paul Allen's word though.

The next GM isn't going to be Presti or West. Have to get over that right now.
