I was laughing through the whole thing. He absolutely nails it. The only archetype missing is the guy who single-handedly loses games because he's that bad at basketball.

thats bloody funny, i get that all the time, but the one i get the most is the AI wannabe, it really sucks cause there is always an AI wannabe where i play pick up games, and he always has either a kobe or AI jersey on.

I hate the marathon men. It's always these soccer players that have no real basketball skills but just jet in straight lines down the court and lay it up.

Also the guy that doesn't know his own strength, being a post player usually (a skinny one at that) i'm always getting these assholes tackling guys in the paint.

I played with a big oaf of a guy, and embarassed him. He was my own teammate, no less. He had set a pick for me, I veered to the right, and noticed both defenders following me, so I whip the ball over to the big oaf who is open, and hit him clean in the face, the ball bounces out of bounds. A player not playing tells everyone to be 'alert'.

Too many times I have played with inferior players, but hey, can't expect everyone to be at or above my level.

Awesome read. This is the perfect description of some of the guys who play at the rec center near my house. I played with some guys two days ago and we had the Iverson wannabe, crossing over and dribbling the ball for 15 seconds before firing up a miss from past NBA three point range. Then we had the old guy who was the player coach yelling at everyone. Then we had the 6'6 guy who was dunking who was too good for the rest of us.

I've never played with anyone who was really, really much better than everyone else, but for the guys that I have played with that are a few notches higher on the skill chart (and always the height chart too): you can always foul them to stop them

wow, thats uncanny how real the players are. i too have had bad experiences with "sweat hogs". I once hit screen i didnt see coming a got a face full of someones sweaty back. It felt like someone had slapped me with an old smelly wet t-shirt
