Britain & Ireland outplayed Continental Europe in Saturday's greensomes and foursomes to take a commanding five-point lead in the Vivendi Seve Trophy, 11½ to 6½.
The defending champions won three and halved one of the four greensomes in the morning to lead 9-5 before taking 2½ points out of four in the afternoon's foursomes.
The tournament ends Sunday with 10 singles matches. Britain & Ireland need only 2½ more points for victory because the defending champions keep the title in the event of a draw.
