The Nets are indeed headed to Brooklyn but in an interview with Fox Business News, Brett Yormark revealed that “Brooklyn Nets” is only the “working title right now” for the relocated team. While “most people assume it’s going tobethe Brooklyn Nets, we need to validate that”,said Yormark, adding the team is “about to do some (marketing) research” and “we’ll figure it out shortly”. The Nets hold trademarks for both Brooklyn Nets and New York Nets.

Fox Business News -- Lowering the standards of even the most boring programming.

Who is the audience for this crap?

"So like, OMG he's like so cute!!!"
"Heh, are you talking about m-"
**gets cut off**

In all seriousness I'd love to see them pull a NY Giants / Jets move and continue to call the team the New Jersey Nets, despite the fact it would be financial suicide.

A certain newsroom not far from Fox's refers to FBN's "Happy Hour" as "a train wreck with boobs".

I'd like for them to still be called the New Jersey Nets, just to have a basketball team which I love still represent where I live..sadly that won't be happening. I, however, won't mind it being called "New York Nets" because that's what it used to be anyway. I'm not crazy for Brooklyn Nets.

I think Rupert and roger have a good eye for talent!

The last thing on my mind is their name. I just want them to be in Brooklyn already.

I mean, the Brooklynettes?

I could see why it's still a working title.

Too bad "Dodgers" is taken...

Call the dancers the Brooklynettes, call the team New York Nets, there's history in that name.

And I don't even get Fox Business so I won't make a judgment on that channel, but chick is hot.

It actually makes a lot of financial sense to go with New York Nets, think about the merchandising of the current Yankee logo. It's become more of a symbol for the city than it is for the baseball team. On the same token Brooklyn merchandise would be a great way to 'rep' Brooklyn, but the entire city of NYC can rally behind the best team in that area.

That's my same exact thoughts on the issue. I like the New York Nets alot better, sounds better, and reminds me of the championship years.

Very good idea which is why I think they will go with New York as well.
