Now that the trade deadline has passed the next order of business is to buyout veterans on bad teams who want to hook up with playoff contenders. Nets head coach/general manager Kiki Vandeweghe doesn't expect any buyouts in the next few days, but wouldn't rule it out by the end of the month.
"I think we're open to anything," Vandeweghe told The Star-Ledger. "Our philosophy has always been we like our players, we want to help them, if an opportunity arises. We certainly don't want to hurt our team doing it, but sometimes that (buyout) happens."
Bobby Simmons, Jarvis Hayes and Tony Battie could be three players on the Nets who might want a buyout.
Players must be waived by March 1 to be eligible to play in the post-season.
