Doing some bit torrent downloads and watching a jailbroke fire stick. Thinking it might be a good idea to have. you guys think it’s necessary?
Most decent VPNs will cost you a few bucks but not much. I use this one and it seems as good as any. You only want to use it when you need it, as internet speed is slow, and some accounts of yours wont load if they cant verify your computer.

I use this to work from home all the time.
Its simple. Its just a third party that allows you to log onto one computer from another. So when you log in, you actually see all of the icons and programs/software on the computer you are accessing remotely.
However our IT tech set me up with it, so I don't know how to get it onto your computer to start. Only how to use once there.
I agree with what you're saying, but my IT guys say stuff like "OK, let me VPN to your computer to see what you're seeing....taking control of your desktop now..." (only the military side. I don't let anyone on my personal computers).VPN is different than that (which sounds like a remote desktop setup), but it's definitely used in the process and I bet your IT guys called it "the VPN" or whatever. VPN has to do with how the data moves, not the data itself.

If you have to hold your camera so close to it that it gets blurry, dick pics aren't your thing. No shame really. Thanks guys. The real reason I need one is to start up multiple S2 accounts and burn this place to the ground, from the inside!!! I got a ton of blurry photos to still post!
VPN adds a remote computer to a LAN as if it were on the Ethernet with all the rest.I agree with what you're saying, but my IT guys say stuff like "OK, let me VPN to your computer to see what you're seeing....taking control of your desktop now..." Oh, I got it, I understand (and use) PIA (and don't use ProtonMail's VPN, though I like their secure email service). I was just saying I could understand Orion, b/c my IT helpdesk says the same thing.VPN adds a remote computer to a LAN as if it were on the Ethernet with all the rest.
Once VPN in, the remote user can use Remote Desktop to see and control your system.
IT guy would only allow Remote Desktop from ON the LAN, not outside. For security purposes.
Like I said, the data is encrypted end to end. The remote system appears on the LAN as if it were plugged in, as if in the cubicle next door.
You might use some chat like service that isn’t behind the firewall and doesn’t require a VPN. I assume that’s how the guy said “I’m going to VPN in and control your computer.”
