This looks like twitch teams for Fortnite, I know Ninja and someone else (Drake?) did a thing a while back and like broke twitch.

By the way, I am moving more and more towards game developement / coding / 3D modeling / because game engines have solved a lot of software problems mainly in 3D space, Euler angles, quarternians, but I do gaming some. Here’s the deal I don’t at all understand the Fortnite excitement, so when you get back please explain that to me lol.

...same, but then again I've never really been a "gamer" -- people are going crazy over this game and when my nephew showed it to me it looked very amateur'ish to me :dunno:

You know, I might have understood just enough of your post, it seem perhaps I might like it.:cool2:

It's all the rage with the kids, like Minecraft used to be.

Fortnite is fun and addicting af. You squad up with your bros and pwn some losers.

Ninja makes like a million a month streaming him playing Fortnite. Sounds like it pays to be a nerd.

Okay, I got talked into that one with the bag over my head. The eye slits were too small for me to see out of.

When I think of S2 Forum members, this is EXACTLY what I think of! Just in a basement!

And if any of you were lucky enough to get a human female to actually pay attention to you and visit your moms basement, THIS is what I’m envisioning!

Those people playing video games in their basement are making a shit ton more money than most people. Ninja specifically has probably been making a million a month. But yeah, they are all just nerds...

You can be a nerd and still be rich.

See Mark Cuckerberg and Bill Gates for examples.

That guy and somebody called Myth came in the truck today to look at my highlights I built of them playing. Seemed like cool dudes.
Oh and they said they love The HCP’s posting on here!

You have to play to understand.

The truth is, HCP never met these guys. He knows who they are because he has their YouTube clips on repeat in the basement, while the Mrs. is upstairs with the door locked!

Dream job. But they're insane at the game too. They're talented.

while this is true for every successful streamer, there’s hundreds of streamers with nothing to show for it. It’s much like any other walk of life.

True, I’m just saying. It’s been interesting to watch how gaming used to be looked at as a nerd thing and it’s become cool over the years especially now and with so much money being put into the esports scene and how much the top streamers make. The prehistoric thought is still “video games are for nerds, I don’t understand any of it”. The statistics and numbers are there. Some just refuse to look at them

I literally work in unity / unreal and code for a living and while I don’t currently use those systems for games it’s hard for me to judge what people outside of my frame of reference think about technology in general.
I’ll say this the more time I spend on AI, neural nets, deep learning, etc the more even in my bubble kind of think there’s a lot of crap we can do with technology that maybe we shouldn’t, the problem is to stay competitive you feel almost forced to because if you don’t someone else will. Not to make this a conversation on ethics, but more or less saying some of that “fear” of technology I completely understand and I help develop some of it...

It’s also people refusing to take gaming seriously or as an art form where as movies are accepted openly as that. I can recall countless games with an art style that is amazing or a game with writing and scenes that are better than modern movies. Animation in games also gets better and better. It amazes me that people think they are so hip to 2018 and beyond yet can’t see what gaming does for people and how it will continue to evolve or esports and streamers. That whole world. It reminds me of skateboarding and how at one point skateboarders were looked at as the rebels and outcasts of the world. Tony hawk came around and changed that not only through his games but popularity and doing the 900. Fast forward to today, everybody is wearing some form of skate clothing brand or shoes without knowing it, pro skaters make tons of money through contests or sponsors. Nike sb and adidas skateboarding has taken the industry by storm. MTV certainly captitilized back when rob dyrdek was all over their network. It’s the same with games. So many play free mobile games. Not a fan of fortnite but it has definitely brought more recognition to the industry. It’s crazy

Zelda wind waker was an amazing game people wrote off because of the art style!
