Like to calm one down or make one focus more? I've been smoking weed more and more lately and found that it really hasn't affected my performance, actually makes me more get-go with stuff.

granted, I don't smoke a lot....but it seems to have a chilling effect and I'm not such an agressive A-hole.

everybody reacts differently, you obviously are one of the few that it actually motivates rather than subdues...The strain of the weed itself can make a difference too. It easily makes people less agitated

Actually I tend to think things over a lot more, when hitting the green. I have found production variances though. If it is something I like to do, production will go up. If it is something I don't like to do, production will go into the sewer. It just accentuates what thoughs are already there. :)

In the words of Joe Rogan: "You can get so high that you forget to call your girlfriend. But you can never get so high that you forget to use a phone. You can get so high you have sex with a woman other than your wife. But you can never get so high that you will tell her. "

yeah, I actually woke up 2 hours earlier than I usually do....went out, got breakfast, coffee and ran errands and shit. been calmer than usual at work, still getting things done.

I have found I never sleep sounder then when smoke out, and it makes a better rest of the next day. It's just stupid that it is illegal at all.

why not both? I'm drinking less, but good stuff now.

cause then u will end up in rehab...this is a tricky path u are on. You might drink less NOW while u increase smoking herb but then all of a sudden you will back to be drinking AND have an herb habbit...just giving u warning

I have been drinking less for the past 2-3 years. More socially with the occasional binge when I go to vegas or something.

As with anything, it is best used in moderation. If it begins to consume all of your thoughts to get high, then you have a problem. Also, if you grow dependent on it to function, that is also a problem. If you are thinking "man, I can't do this without being high" you've got issues. Just know when to say when. Ideally, you should be able to train your mind to be "more calm" and "more focused" without using.

Here is a great quote from one of my favorite singers ever, Maynard James Keenan of Tool and Perfect Circle. Nothing could be closer to the truth:

“I think psychedelics play a major part in what we do, but having said that, I feel that if somebody's going to experiment with those things they really need to educate themselves about them. People just taking the chemicals and diving in without having any kind of preparation about what they're about to experience tend to have no frame of reference, so they're missing everything flying by and all these new perspectives. It's just a waste. They reach a little bit of spiritual enlightenment, but they end up going, 'Well, now I need that drug to get back there again.' The trick is to use the drugs once to get there, and maybe spend the next ten years trying to get back there without the drug.

Currently I'm working with my 14 year old nephew that he shouldn't smoke weed. It's hard because I know if he used it responsibly, it wouldn't be a big deal. But his problem is that he can't use it and function properly (eg. go to school, get good grades, listen to his grandmother). He's 2 totally different people when he's sober vs. high. He doesn't have the mental strength or personal responsibility to function while high. Long story short, he's not mature enough to use it responsibly.

I LOVE a good bong hit every now and then. Hate shitty weed. Only smoke the kind. Cut down a LOT in recent years.

I am one of those ppl who weed gets motivated and I get up and do shit. But Rizzle is right. There are certain types of weed that make you feel different. TONS of different strands.

Strands definitely have a huge effect on my mood after smoking.

I smoke quite frequently, at least five times per week, and my experiences vary each session. Sometimes I'll feel really motivated and I'll want to go out and do something productive. Other times I'll feel completely burnt out and lazy and I'll just want to stay in the same spot and pretty much waste the whole day away. Generally, my personality is positively affected by herb and I won't get as agitated or angered as I usually do (I'm not saying that I'm a complete maniac when I don't smoke).

It's different for everyone so I can only speak for myself. In that case, yes, it can be used to calm one (me) down.

To answer the OP's question, I think it's only if given a prescription, since I think it's illegal--at least, according to US Department of Justice. :)
Yes, marijuana is illegal. Marijuana is a Schedule I substance under the Controlled Substances Act. Schedule I drugs, which include heroin and LSD, have a high potential for abuse and serve no legitimate medical purpose in the United States.

When I work-out after smoking I have so much more endurance. I can't necessarily lift more but I can do way more reps.

ativan is the prescription drug most oftenly used as a chill pill.

ok, working out after smoking out the day before sucks. i didn't have that killer instinct playing basketball...that "I want to fuck you up" mentality. cardio sucked and dragged on too...didn't even bother lifting, i would have gave up so fast....

It's shown a lot of potential as an effective treatment for anxiety disorders and depression. The problem is that there's very little research done about that potential, because of the misguided drug policies of America and Canada (it's ridiculously difficult to get research grants for that kind of a project). Instead, both would rather continue pushing prescription medication on the population which tend to come with significant side effects.

LOL that's funny. You can tell you are new to the smoke game.

I've never smoked, nor even been tempted. I like booze, not for its effects, but because I love the taste. If they made non-alcoholic bourbon, I'd drink it all day. A good buzz with friends is fine, but I can hang sober as well.

Like I said in the other thread, I work for the largest "medical" clinic in all of Southern California, so PM me for more information regarding this matter...

...it is worth your time to get LEGAL!!! :smokeone:
