Outrage spread in Canada, with the Toronto Star last week bemoaning "a plague of protectionist measures in the U.S." and Canadian companies openly fretting about having to shift jobs to the United States to meet made-in-the-USA requirements. This week, the Canadians fired back. A number of Ontario towns, with a collective population of nearly 500,000, retaliated with measures effectively barring U.S. companies from their municipal contracts -- the first shot in a larger campaign that could shut U.S. companies out of billions of dollars worth of Canadian projects.

Thank you, Mr. Obama. Your brilliant stimulus plan has now outraged our friendly neighbors to the north, and started a trade war. Maybe this is why they said you had no qualifications to be president.

That's ok. His plan for health care is projected to cause close to 10,000,000 lost jobs. BUT, at least we'll finally have healthcare owned and run by the federal government.

I hope it gets to the point where senior citizens no longer have to choose between food or prescription medication.

Do you just buy any myth that's fed to you? Government programs ensure this choice never has to be made. Between Social Security, Medicare and Food Stamps, there are more than enough coverage for the bare necessities.

He knows that. It's called Obama worshiping.

You have such a special way of communicating with people . . .

Right . . . you got be me all figured out. Must be all the time we hang out together, sharing ideas, getting to know each other . . . I could see why you are ready to label me.

I figure I got to put on my Obama worshiping hat . . . when dealing with posters who blindly bash Obama for anything.

Have you spent any time in any educational institution, ever?

The quote says "could shut out..." you retype "started a trade war." Is reading a new skill you've just learned. Do you need help getting it down?

Wake up on the wrong side of the cot this morning?

Wake up on the wrong side of the cot this morning?

No I woke up in a great mood. Rolled out of my cot, put my stuff away under the cot, went to the soup kitchen and got a tasty meal.

It was you and your pompous labeling put me in a bad mood . . . one down for you and I'm thinking about 12 more posters to piss off before you call it a day . . .

You're a rather sad person. I actually feel a lot of sympathy for you. I hope your day gets better.

Just a question: Which school(s) did you attend and which degree(s) did you earn?

I graduated High School with a 1.2 gpa.

Liar. There's no way you graduated from high school.

Actually, I almost didn't graduate HS. Once I finished my Fall semester Senior Year, I knew my GPA didn't matter--my last semester wouldn't get passed on to whichever college I chose. As such, I just stopped doing homework and went waterskiing every morning when it got warm enough. Finally, I was called in by our Principal and told that if I didn't start doing my work, he was sending an update report to my college and I was going to get kicked off the baseball team. After that I shaped up and barely got passing grades that semester.

Yes, and I'm sure the new plan will run itself, with no additional jobs.

Perhaps you'd like to quote the source of that 10 million job loss, you know, just so we can see how neutral that source is and how valid their research is...

Sweet! More government employees! That's just what the economy needs.

The president's plan is to have a federal single payer system as an alternative to traditional healthcare. The cost to employers and individuals will be about 1/3 the current costs. That, in and of itself, will most likely cause both companies & individuals to leave their more traditional plans and use the nationalized plan. Since I work for a company owned by a large health care company, I note that about 20,000,000 people are employed by health care providers nationwide. As people opt out of traditional companies and for the federal plan, companies will close and people will lose their jobs- there will be no stimulus plan for them. To be sure, some will latch on with the feds to administer their plan, but current estimates are that 40-60% will permanently lose their jobs. And those figures seem right to me.

Now, pay attention, I am not necessarily a supporter of our current health care system. To me, it's bloated and in desperate need of serious changing and possible regulation. My concern is that to have such a radical chance in health care from a system that at least delivers quality health care on a consistently better basis than any known nationalized plan should count for something. Yes, deep changes need to be make, but Obama's plan to me is way too radical. I think something inbetween will best serve all people concerned.

Oh, don't you know they tell you not to give out personal information to big bad strangers on the internet. It's of no concern to you. Sorry for pointing out the lack of reading comprehension by your friend.

Unlike some people, I have nothing to prove on the internet.

You list your favorite teams in your sig. Asking which school you attended is about as personal as that. And I wasn't defending anyone, I just asked a simple question. Clearly, you're embarrassed to answer it.

Jesus, when you have kids and they turn into teenagers (if they aren't already), I can already tell they're going to fucking hate you. You guys have the answers to everything.

I remember when I was 18. It was great to know everything already.
