Canzano's 25 most influential people in Oregon sports

LOLZ at Merritt Paulson being the 2nd most influential and Willie Lyles being the 4th most influential person in all of Oregon sports.
 
If Merritt has real influence, he should bring an NHL or MLB team here.

btw, I honestly didn't know that Willie Lyles was black. I don't care though.
 
Can't take it seriously when he omits Roy from the list altogether.
 
I wouldnt laugh so much at MP being on that list. Maybe #2 is too high... but he def deserves to be on that list. I'm not saying that as a Soccer Honk, I am saying it cause I can get my machismo over the "Euro sissy, soccer is for people who have Vaginas" mindset, and understand that people are buying what he is selling. He is playing the "Man of the People" part marvelously. I know people like to laugh at Soccer as a whole across the country, but I wouldnt downplay the pull he has on this region (Pac NW).. it does say Influential in Oregon Sports after all.
 
Why? Roy is nothing more than an average player who is overpaid. If they choose to, the Blazers will most likely be able to amnesty his ass out of here since it makes no sense for there not to be a clause in the new CBA. It is good for both teams and players.

yeah I realized that point might have come across as directed at you.. when in fact you are the opposite. You make fun of soccer but are willing to give it a chance :cheers:

His monumental decline this year was the most significant development for the Blazers and will significantly affect (err... influence) the way they move on for the future.

In the 25 brief blurbs, Canzano seems to use the word "juice" about 38 times.

he put the Timbers Army on the list, but that was the only group of "fans" he put there.

The only thing I like about soccer is Alex Morgan. I am sure there are other attractive players out there, but I am allowing myself one, and she is the lucky one
 
Some of the French and Swedish ones weren't bad either.

Calzano doesn't even have MLB All-Star, Oregon native, and former OS star Jacoby Ellsbury in his "considered" list, yet he has Megan Rapinoe, who isn't from Oregon, and doesn't live in Oregon, and Clive Charles, who, great as we has at UP, has been dead for 8 years.

Way to be on the ball, Calzano!

Yeah I made it to the friendly. Just got back from visiting Chicago and Columbus yesterday at about 4am, went to work, and then to the game. I was nodding out by the end of the match, but not because soccer is boring :)
