The Ducks have traded Carl Hagelin to the Penguins for David Perron and Adam Clendening.

The Rangers traded Hagelin to the Ducks at the draft.

Hagelin is in the first year of a four-year contract with a cap hit of $4 million per season.

In 43 games for the Ducks, Hagelin has four goals, 8 assists, and a minus 10 rating.

Hagelin is reunited with Penguins coach Mike Sullivan, who was a Rangers assistant under John Tortorella.

Perron is a UFA after the season, so this pretty much means the Ducks were like no way we can pay Hags 4 mill per over the next 3 seasons.

I don't love Hags back in the Met though. Never want to see a popular former player burn us.

This is what happens when you give 35 point role players 4 million a year.

He is what he is and nothing more. Good guy, teammate and made some big plays for the Rangers. Now seems out of place and clearly overpaid.

All the Rangers need to do is hit Hags a few times to render him useless as the Rangers and now the Ducks have found out. Seems to me that Hags felt his speed alone made working on all the other parts of his game unnecessary.

This league just regurgitates the same names over and over........
just like their coaches.
