Caroline Wozniacki and Kim Clijsters are the top seeded player in the BNP Paribas Open tournaments, which is being held at Indian Wells. In the Indian Wells Open women’s singles, a total of 49-players would be participating in this tournament, which is scheduled to star form Wednesday March 9-20, 2011 at Indian Wells.
Caroline Wozniacki and Kim Clijsters, ranked No.1 and No.2 in the world this week are also the top 2 seeded players in the tournament. Clijsters, the Australian Open champion wants to snatch up the top ranking against Wozniacki in the Indian Wells tournament.
Caroline Wozniacki was the finalist last year in the BNP Paribas Open and Kim Clijsters was the champion in 2003 and 2005.
Vera Zvonareva, the world no.3 player in WTA, has earlier defeated Caroline Wozniacki, world no.1 in straight sets to capture the Qatar Ladies Open in Doha. She has won the BNP Paribas Open in the year 2009 and is looking out for another biggest title in her career and would be facing Clijsters in half of the draw.
