Australia's Casey Stoner won an incident-filled British MotoGP on Sunday to supplant defending champion Jorge Lorenzo at the top of the world championship standings.
Stoner started from the pole and overcame difficult racing conditions on a drenched Silverstone circuit to clinch a fourth victory in six races becoming the first Honda rider to win three successive MotoGP races since Italy's Valentino Rossi in 2003.
