He is going to hold the Senate floor all night. Railing against Neil Gorsuch.
Perhaps you will be as impressed as I am.
Vote for anyone else.

It appears the Senator has mastered the art of obfuscation. Giving a dissertation on the operations of a board directors running a corporation.
But considering the object of his disagreement, he should have explained how a Closely Held Corporation differs. He didn't, but I doubt it was and oversight.

It's these dumb ass shenanigans that made Trump win. People are sick of politicians twiddling wood

Yeah, shenanigans like Republicans not allowing a President with a year left in his term to put in his Supreme Court nominee.

I hope the Democrats keep out Trump's nominee for 4 or 8 years or whatever it takes. Just for revenge.

Then it will be 8.

They cannot keep Trump's nominee from being voted in. They will force the Republicans to do what Harry Reid did with lower court appointees - eliminate the filibuster.

Not only is Gorsuch going to be the next Justice, if any of the feeble 80+ year olds cannot continue, he's going to get a 2nd (and maybe 3rd) Justice appointed.

Democrats could have made a deal to keep the filibuster, but they choose to commit suicide in public view.

Arming the nuke (thanks Reid!) and setting it off (thanks Chucky!).

I'm not a fan of sabotaging the function of the government because you didn't like the way the other guys played, but I can't disagree that the Republican side's response to the USSC vacancy was ridiculous.

I'm so tired of partisan divisiveness.

Honestly, listening to the committee hearings seems like listening to a bunch of hypocrites.

R's -- This voting against Gorsuch and filibustering is politically motivated. Dems are just voting against Gorsuch because they don't like the R's. (oh yeah, wasn't that the whole point of you blocking Garland??)

D's -- All have the same talking points on Gorsuch (but it's clear this is all revenge for Garland). But, R's are bad because they blocked Obama's pick. (umm isn't that what you are doing??).

I personally think Gorsuch is a fine pick. But so was Garland. If Trump wanted to mend some fences, he would put up Garland for the next pick. Frankly, that's a pretty good compromise.

Screw the fences! Put in another Scalia. Let's operate under the Constitution, as it says, or modify it via the amendment process, Not morph it by benevolent judges.

Only Democrats say that. It's the philosophy of a loser, if Republicans follow the opposite philosophy, which they do. Appealing to the Christian pacifism in Republican killers will never get anywhere.
Confused which part of what you quoted was Democrat-exclusive.

Fatigue with fighting. This is why Democrats always lose. Republicans only understand killing, imprisonment, and torture. Play by their rules. For example, they held hearings on Hillary, delayed them a year to coincide with election season, then dropped them the day after the election. Surely the media won't hold Democrats responsible for partisan divisiveness, since they don't hold Republicans responsible for it...

Never knew I was espousing liberal concepts. I feel like I need a shower.

What's your thought on the 3rd Amendment?

Which is what Democrats have wanted for decades, fighting Southerners. Thanks, conservatives, for getting rid of the filibuster. 99% of its uses have been by conservatives from the South.

It astonishes me that people continue to vote for this moron. He's accomplishing nothing here.

99% of its uses have been by conservatives from the South.

The five longest filibusters on record;
Strom Thurmond South Carolina
Alfonse D'Amato New York
Wayne Morse Oregon
Robert La Follette Wisconsin
<---- Merkely fits here I think.
William Proxmire Wisconsin

One from the South and he was a Democrat.
I didn't look it up but, perhaps Gus D'Amato is the only Republican in this group.

Right? Those southern conservatives destroyed Bork and John Tower.

Well, you can't have it both ways. What kind of scrutiny do you think SCOTUS appointees should be given? Sure, it's a lifetime appointment, but at the end of the day should political differences stop the appointment? If you say no, then Garland should be on SCOTUS right now. If you say yes, then you can't complain about Gorsuch getting filibustered. My view is that I'm tired of hearing the other party did it, so we can do it too. I say start afresh, confirm Gorsuch, but nominate Garland next. That's the best compromise. It would be good to see Congress actually working together and not against each other. Gridlock is not going to get us very far. Incidentally, odd that the R's control virtually every governmental branch and can't seem to get their act together to do anything of consequence. Maybe if they worked with the D's instead of against them, they could actually get some things accomplished.

This will all bite the Dems in the ass in the long run. total cuck job coming soon.

Irrelevant. That's like saying that history's 5 highest-scoring games were from Wilt Chamberlain, so most NBA players are 7 feet tall.
