Chicago Sky General Manager and Head Coach Steven Key announced today that veteran guard K.B. Sharp has made the decision to forgo the 2010 WNBA season.

"K.B. has been a valuable contributor on this team and we wish her the best as she pursues other avenues over the next year," said Key. "K.B.'s professional approach and consistency will be missed."

Sharp, who joined the Sky after being acquired in a trade from the Indiana Fever in 2008, played in 27 games in 2009, averaging 12 minutes per game. She shot 40.4 percent from the field and 94.7 percent from the free throw line for the year.

"This has been a tough decision to come to," Sharp said. "I've experienced many feelings, many ups and downs. There are many reasons for my decision including wanting to finish my diploma to secure my future after basketball and spending time with my family. I loved playing in Chicago and am happy I got to finish my career playing there."
