The Chicago Sky announced today that local standout Amy Jaeschke has been waived from the team. The roster now stands at 12 players.
Jaeschke, the first woman ever to be drafted to the WNBA from Northwestern University, was selected with the 27th overall pick in the 2011 WNBA Draft on April 11.
The 6-5 center, who grew up in Wilmette, Illinois, played for the New Trier girls basketball team prior to joining the Wildcats.
Final cuts for the Chicago Sky and the rest of the WNBA will take place on or before Thursday, June 2, 2011. The final roster will include 11 players.
Chicago starts the regular season in Indiana on Saturday, June 4. The team's home opener is set for Friday, June 10 at 7:30 p.m. at Allstate Arena versus the Connecticut Sun.
