Warning, this gets graphic and disturbing.

The Chinese media reported that the incident was triggered when the man’s girlfriend called the restaurant from a nearby internet cafe, requesting for delivery of an ice-cream cone. As the ice-cream is not an item in the restaurant’s delivery list, the request was rejected, despite another call by the boyfriend. The furious man than decided to march over to the fast food restaurant to confront the pregnant store manager.

What followed is quite horrifying as he began to attack the manager. The sad thing is that the group of restaurant workers and customers who witnessed the scenes did not try hard to stop the attacker, presumably because he was extremely aggressive. The China netizens however where not so kind. Other than condemning the acts of the man, they also chided those who were present watching the scene unfold but did little to interfere. These netizens bemoaned the general lack of compassion among the Chinese citizens.

Apparently he's claiming he was drunk, and apologized to the person.

I know different cultures have different beliefs, and practices, but how can you not want to have been there and put the guy in a full nelson, or a grab both his arms from behind, pull them back, stick your knee on the middle of his back and jump forward? (This would put all your weight on the middle of his spine, as he fell towards the ground...basically, crushing his innards)

Wow, what the FUCK are those fucking workers and customers doing standing around like fucking idiots? I swear to god I would of shot that mother fucker if I saw that shit.

I don't think it's a cultural thing as it is a human thing. I see things happening in the states all the time. Names like Kitty Genovese come up to mind. In fact, I saw a fight between some Blazer-Rocket fans during Game 1 and most people just stood back watching.

People are too afraid of intruding on someone else's personal problems that they forget their common virtues. That's just the way it is.

There is truth in that, usually it just takes 1 person. But it's also a cultural thing. Women are not seen as equals in some areas of the world (and even in some pockets of our own country).

The coworkers and patrons seemed like npc's. A new example of bystander effect.

This reminds me of a popular thread from last week...

There was a famous incident that occurred when I was in Japan. This man raped a woman on the train and no one came to her aid. I noticed there is more apathy or feelings of "not wanting to get involved" in Japan. It may be similar in other asian contries
On 3 August 2006, a woman was raped by a man in a train toilet while traveling on the Thunderbird 50 service (just left Fukui Station), despite the car being occupied by approximately 40 other passengers. As a result, JR West introduced a "women-only" section in the reserved-seating cars of Raichō and Thunderbird trains from October 2007, and JR East added prominent "SOS" stickers inside all of its trains in June 2007. On 17 January 2008, district court in Otsu sentenced him to 18 years in prison.

bluefrog is right.

Most asian countries just don't get involved. Call it passive or too scared, don't ask me. I'm a chinese kid born in SoCal, and even when I play basketball aggressively (I like to knock people if they knock me, on top of physical play) and I play against FOBs, they take everything so personally and call everything illegal cause of a little contact.

Because most asians are fuckin' pussies.

That dude needs two bullets in his fuckin' head.

After watching this, I have decided that the Chinese are zero threat to us militarily.
