There's a rumor on the interwebs that Miami has some executives in Eugene right now.

well that would suck if true lol. I thought I read that Miami wanted a proven NFL winner "star" coach though?

As an NFL fan, I definitely want to see Kelly coach an NFL team.

It would be fascinating to see what he'd be able to do in the NFL... whether players would buy into it and whether, if they did, if it would work.

I hope that we don't find out for another 10 or 12 years, though :)

Where else can Chip go at Oregon? Sure, a BCS title would be nice, or even a BCS win, but the guy has won 3 straight Pac titles in his first three years. If he wants to try the NFL, then the time is now, because it's not like he can win Pac-12 titles every year he is in Eugene.
 
Too bad we don't have some prodigy assistant that could fill in for CK if he did decide to leave. Which, I don't think is likely, he seems like a college guy all the way.

Take it for what it is, just another internet rumor.

People should be more cautious. Lower courts have been establishing case law and handing down civil liabilities when it's established that rumors create a disruption or disturbance for individuals or organizations.

Bullshit. Why would they talk to Chip as he's getting ready for the Rose Bowl? I doubt chip would talk to them.

So much for scare-tactics to prevent him from doing this in the future. Way to play along... :sigh:

(btw - case law has est some interesting rulings on rumors, mainly defamation of character, but some other interesting ones regarding rumors that affect a persons career and perception. i received a justified settlement from someone who tried to discredit me to bolster public opinion. :devilwink: courts have no tolerance for nonsense slander when 40 coworkers appear to testify too. looks like a few more cases may be in the mix too. :devilwink: some people have no discernment and even fewer assets.)

I think the so called rumor started on the Dan Patrick show. He mentioned that Kelly would be a good fit for the Dolphins job. I don't think there is much to the rumor. I do think eventually if CK was offered the right NFL job he would take it. I doubt he is going to be offered a NFL job until he wins a few or at least one big bowl game.

I would hate to lose CK but now with our program I believe we would get a great coach to replace him. We have a lot of money from donors to go along with the extra money from the Pac 12 TV deal to make CK or his replacement one of the best paid coach in college football.
 
A simple Google search shows that this was NOT started by tlong. I don't know why people would think that it was.

We just show at the top of results because we're awesome :)

Yes, SEVERAL discussions have been held regarding Kelly to the NFL and different teams - even the Seahawks. It's chatter. Discussion. "What if's"?

Where did the claim that Miami execs were in Eugene come from???

Um, no. tlong the Troll said that Miami executives were in Eugene. There is no valid news source that validates that claim.

He said that an internet rumor had them in Eugene. "Internet rumors" are almost by definition not a valid news source.

What does it matter? If you don't want to talk about Chip Kelly going to the Dolphins/NFL, then don't post in the thread. It seems pretty straightforward to me.
