I don't believe for a second this was Cho's doing, but props to the organization for making something happen

do we know the details of the picks yet? Do you envision the Blazers having high picks anytime soon?

I suppose now is the time to start backpedaling though after months of corny nicknames for the Choad-meister.

I'm just waiting for all those lovely posters berating Cho and basically the entire front office to come forward and claim that it was their bitching that helped to convince Cho and Co. to make the deal.

I think OKC did. Getting Perk for a playoff run is a pretty big deal, IMO. At least he and Nazr will be able to play D and rebound for Durant and Westbrook.

I'd say that with the late-model Sonics of Presti's reign they were about collecting future assets, not going in on "player X NOW!!". Renting out cap space, trading expirings for future picks, etc. We gave up our expirings along with future picks and got a NOW asset, instead of stockpiling for the future.

First of all, no good GM has a set philosophy regarding making "now" moves versus "future" moves. It's fluid based on the circumstances. Just because Presti maneuvered more for the future 5-6 years ago, doesn't mean he'd do the same if he was in control of the Blazers today. Second, Cho isn't Presti. They may have similarities, but I'm sure they're not clones.

Yes, and I addressed that in response to Fez. Draft picks aren't only used for drafting. They are also used for trading. Draft picks are fungible, so make a good currency to accumulate. How you cash them is not set in stone and I've never seen Cho put it in stone that he'd store up draft picks to use them all for drafting.
 
Well done, Cho. This looks to me like the heist of the trade deadline. Also the biggest talent to be acquired. I'd have been happy with either, but it's always nice when you can do both.

I'm so glad I'm playing the restraint game these days. It makes things much more enjoyable.

Perkins will be playing a role he's never played before. He's going to be asked to carry much more of the load than he did in Boston.

That team was in rebuild mode and didn't have the richest owner in sports to buy picks whenever they wanted.
 
I don't know...he'll still be able to defer on offense, be a garbageman, and play D and rebound. Same as in Boston. OKC isn't going to change their Durant/Westbrook-centric offense to accomodate him or Nazr.

Sorry, I say "Late Model Sonics" to mean Thunder. Each of the last 3 summers and 2 of the last 3 trade deadlines they've inserted themselves into deals to get future accomodations...cash, draft picks, an upcoming expiring, etc.
