Chrysler is recalling 45,961 of its Ram 1500 pickups for an electronic stability control problem.
Chrysler says the ESC -- which uses computer-controlled selective braking to help the driver keep control in a too-fast corner or swerve -- in the pickups may not go on when the truck is started. While it is sometimes disabled in special circumstances, it is supposed to be on by default and is generally a safety risk if it is off.
ESC has been required since 2012 on all cars and light-duty trucks.
