Was listening to The Game on the way into work and Clyde was on. They asked him about the potential Turkoglu signing and he's like (paraphrasing), "Personally, I don't get it. The Blazers have a great young core already and Rudy Fernandez is just as good as Turkoglu. I'm struggling seeing the fit here."

Thought that was a bit interesting

Yea well Clyde wasn't much of a coach either.

I love Clyde, always will be one of my favorite players, but when it comes to managing a team I'd bet he'd have the same success as MJ.

Clyde didnt know much about winning. While I'm torn on the Hedo thing... Clyde's thoughts usually annoy me.

Clyde didn't get why they chose Kersey over Kiki. Rudy is not a Small forward. He is a small SG.

In fairness, Clyde also mentioned these gems...

The three Blazers teams in the late 80's and early 90's that didn't win a championship didn't do so becuase the league "wasn't ready for a small market team to win"

and

Michale Jordan was only a "very good player"

Clyde was a great Blazer, and I've always enjoyed his candidness. That being said, his opinion of Turkoglu and his fit with our team should probably be taken with a grain of salt.

...On another subject, I wonder if Clyde and TP didn't get along in their time together. When mentioning those great Blazers teams he brought up Adleman, Duckworth and Buck Williams as being the catalysts of those teams. What about Porter, dude was the most clutch of the bunch and was the teams leader?

I love Clyde as a player, but having to listen to him here in Houston call games is horrible. He really doesn;t know a lot about player personel at all.

For example, here are a few things he spewed about Portland last year.

Thinks Brandon Roy is over rated
Thinks LaMarcus Aldridge is a poor defender
Thinks the Blazers should have started Sergio and Rudy

He is an idiot when it comes to that kind of stuff.

Frankly if Clyde says he doesn't get it, KP should offer more to get him for sure LOL

Even taken with a grain of salt, this bodes well for us.

I will always love the Clyde from back then but today's Clyde bugs the shit out of me. And he doesnt know shit about shit about what we need. I lost a lot of respect this year when listen to him calling Houston games on the league pass.

But I will never forget the door sized Clyde poster I had as a kid. So he gets a small pass on some things.

Clyde was a great player, but he's proved he's clueless when it comes to this type of stuff.

Ha. We all seem to agree on this one. Let me add my voice to the chorus that says Clyde doesn't know his head from a hole in the ground when it comes to running a team.

Maris is Clyde? This shit about beautiful central Oregon was a master smoke-screen!

He also doesn't know that Rudy did not play a minute at SF last year.

Clyde works for the Houston Rockets these days. Not really in his best interest to give Portland good advice.

i woudn't say comparing him to outlaw is a fair assessment of his value. it's no secret that outlaw was one the least effective players in the league last year in terms of impact on the game.

I agree with the Glide! Bad move! This will be the first step of our team falling apart! Time to become a LAKER fan!

Which of these truisms do you find fault with? :dunno:

Seriously, all very valid and supportable opinions held by many in the league.

Hedo will never be better than the Spanish Armada for this team. That's just a ridiculously horrible downgrade.

Without TO we would have maybe won 20 games.

So you're right, it's no secret.

It's bullshit.

fking MR HOCKETS thinks he knows best about the blazers? the team he has shit on since he left? Fuck you clyde you need to worry about your sinogiant never playing again...lotto.

Hahahahahaha!

Every time I read your stuff I laugh. Fantastic sarcasm is each and every post.

Unless you are being serious?

There's a lot of things Clyde doesn't get, including:

Another coaching job.

A position with any team that involves player personel moves.
