Every Summer League game I watch seems to feature Coby Karl, whether in Orlando or Las Vegas. And he's growing on me (and not malignantly). I wonder if he could be a bargain-basement Hedo - he's got guard skills in a small forward's body and he really knows the game. I can't decide if he's Luke Jackson before or after the surgery, though...

(And in a tight playoff series with the Nugs he could be a useful hostage.)

meh he does nothing for me. but each to his own.

Sign him up. Start him over B-Roy.

Decent summer league pedigree = legit NBA superstar.

I always love this time of year. "OMFG did you see [insert D-League-destined scrub here] at the LVSL? He put up 22 points and 9 rebounds. He is the greatest player in the world ever."

Coby Karl? Are you drunk? That dude wouldn't start for the majority of Big East or ACC teams.

He's a solid role player.

If the team trades Travis and Webster and needs a 3rd SF, he would be an outstanding choice.

I saw him play quite a bit at Boise State University. He is a solid all around player but we get a much much better player to fill that roster spot

Since he would be dirt cheap, I don't know why Portland wouldn't at least consider it.

Well, we certainly made him look good, didn't we?
Right now, Coby Karl is more of a PG than Bayless.

Looks like we have our official scapegoat for 2009-2010. This is good, because I was worried it would be Oden.

Really?

"You got to pick up my kid, somebody's got to pick up my kid. He can play. Come on, Nate, do me a favor." - Nuggets coach George Karl appealing to his former player in Seattle, and current Portland head coach Nate McMillan, to have him sign his son, Coby Karl(notes). Coby averaged 15 points on 62 percent shooting, 4.4 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.4 steals in Vegas.

His numbers look ok... but he plays like a trainwreck. Painful to watch. Adam Morrison is poetry in motion compared to Karl.

Why does signing a guy who would be a decent locker room guy and good for the practice team have to mean he would start over B-Roy?

Give him the minimum and have him in camp. I am pretty sure he could be next years DNPagou with the added bonus of being grateful for the opportunity.

Why did you think the post was saying anything else? Are you drunk or smoking crack?
