Confusion w/ Cousin Status...

Here's what I always thought a "second cousin" was:Ex., my dad's cousin has a daughter. I always thought that daughter of my dad's cousin was my 2nd cousin.So... will someone clarify this for me? What is a 2nd cousin? Is a second cousin your cousin's child or your parents' cousins' children?</span>

I suddenly started thinking, "So my second cousin is paying me a visit...? No, wait.. My second cousin's daughter.. Umm..." I got confused and I asked my dad about it but he didn't know what I was asking because I was confusing him by saying, "Your cousin's daughter.. No, dad, I mean, your a cousin of a daughter..." Just confusing.</span>
