<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Did Lebron James decide on a shorter term contract because he wants to play for his friend Jay-Z's Nets when they move to Brooklyn? And how about Dywane Wade? Does he want to play for the Knicks? To a Cleveland sports writer, it could all be part of a "master plan" to return New York to its rightful place as the center of the basketball universe--and give Lebron oodles more cash in endorsements. The writer notes that only Richard Jefferson has a long term contract, that a lot of cap space will be available.</div>

I think that he left an option open to himself. If by then he really sees that he can make more dough by signing with a New York or LA team, he is will sign with a New York or LA team. One way or another, Cleveland will want him back, so if the going gets rough, he'll take Cleveland's max contract.
