These are guys like Shane Batier, Marquis Daniels, Caron butler, Josh Smith, Dirk Notwitzki, Kevin Garnett, Rashard Lewis... While their respective games are all very different from eachothers they have a one thing in common: versatitlity. Calling a player versatile may be a big compliment to their game and ability to play multiple posistions, but does it help the team? If you take a look at the versatility of various teams with records ranging from first to last you may be surprised by the results.Lets take a look at the #1 team in the NBA: the Dallas Mavericks:Dirk Notwitzki - sf/pf/cJason Terry - pg/sgJosh Howard - sg/sfDevin Harris - pgErick Dampier - cDesonga Diop - cAnthony Johnson - pgGreg Buckner - sgJerry Stackhouse - sg/sfDevean George - sf/pfAustin Croshere - sf/pfMaurice Ager - sgPlayers who play three posistions - 1Players who play two posistions - 5Players who play one posistion - 6Or how about their rivals and '05 champs the Spurs:Tim Duncan - pf/cBruce Bowen - sfManu Ginolbli - sgFrancisco Oberto - cBrent Barry - sgRobert Horry - sf/pfFrancisco Elson - cJackie Butler - cBeno Udrih - pgMichael Finley - sgJacque Vaughn - pgMatt Bonner - sfPlayers who play three posistions - 0Players who play two posistions - 2Players who play one posistion - 10_________________________________________________________________The case for Pacers fan forever's team:sg - jerry west - a 30 point scorer during his career playing with some of the greatest teamates, mr. clutch - many regard him as the best ever in the clutch, defense - the dude arms were unbelievably long and he could strip much smaller players as well as block much bigger players, versatility - started out as a pf and ended as a pg - the guy could play 4 posistions on the floor, unselfish - somehow he was able to keep all of his teamates happy while scoring 30 ppg: a truly remarkable featsf - lebron james - this guy is a garunteed 30/7/6 guy every night, but what makes him most impressive is his playmaking ability, is a point guard in a forward's body - draws comparrisons to magic johnson and michael jordan, a very likable guy with a dry sense of humor and a will to pass the ballpf - charles barkely_________________________________________________________________The official I ruined the Pacers club:
