I remember several weeks before the ASG they said Cruz, Encarnacion & Abreu were on pace to hit well over 60.
I heard or watched that same show whatever it was:
I recall as well, these guys being slotted to hit-
Joey Bats 50
Victor Martinez 45-50
Trout 45
Goldschmidt, 40, then 50, now DL.....
Carter, Donaldson, Moss, they said would hit 40+
Now is this the hot dog days of summer, when the heat drains the piss out of sluggers....?
That Tortonto Homer Dome I hear they turn on the suction when the Jays are at bat. Turn on the blowers of the air conditioner, when the opposing team bats...J/K.....
Yet, that place always has been a Homefield advantage to its players, as was Seattle's homer domer....case in point, see Jose Cruz Jr. Had good yrs in both cities, then went to hell......97- 12 HR's in 49 Games in Seattle, 14 HR's in Toronto in 55 games, his rookie year.
Highs of 32 and 34 in Toronto, then traded to SF, TB, AZ, L.A., Boston, Diego, and Houston, never could live up to his dad, the Stro's all time RBI leader still.....Cruz Sr.
Shawn Green, another one who benefited from the Sky Dome, yet proved he had even more HR power in L.A. AL Lg. High for HR's in 99 at 45, yet next yr in L.A. hit 44, then 49 in 2003 with The Bums.....
