Could Blake need surgery?

I'm reading about Brand and how a dislocated shoulder turned from needed rest to season ending surgery.

The little I have read has labeled Blake with a "shoulder injury" that isn't healing . . . is it even a possiblity that we could get news down the line saying he needs surgery and that would end his year . . . or is this not comparable to Brand's sitaution?

Just my opinion but I think there is a good chance that Blake could be out a lot longer then we all thought. I have read that he isn't healing and if he doesn't get better by after the All Star break you would think something is really wrong and he might miss the year or at least be out a lot longer.

There's always a chance. If this is the case, I would be shocked if we DIDNT deal at the deadline.

Shoulder separations and dislocations are completely different. Obviously, if the tendons and ligaments aren't healing, then it could be a similar situation to Brand's, but the injurys themselves are only similar in that they take place in the same general area.

That, and some like Jameer Nelson just skipped the needed rest stage. Part of the problem is what Blake did coming back early, probably really hurt his chances at it naturally healing. I have read that many people who separate their shoulders are never quite the same again, but most of those are in the NFL where the hits are much more serious.

If it's something that's going to improve with rest, then after the AS break is perfect. We lose him for a couple of more games, but he gets an extra two weeks of rest.

ESPN reported that Brand was making progress as recently as last week and then was suddenly undergoing season-ending surgery a few days later.

I doubt Blake is done for the year, but Brand's situation shows how difficult it is to diagnose shoulder injuries.
