there was a TA night at the RG last year. It ended up being the game against Atlanta where they almost got back from like the 25 point defecit. But the sections were divided into lower and upper bowl prices which spread the forces out.

longer chants are hard to do at basketball for a couple of reasons... there is constant action that requires cheering, which in soccer can be minutes apart, and it is hard to have set chants for set times because there can be major stoppages with timeouts and they wouldn't roll together like ta chants do. that aside, i would sing along if someone handed me a card with the words on them.

Right. Chants fill up empty time between plays. Basketball has the shortest such time of all sports. It's hard to keep singing instead of reacting to exciting plays.

It's like long wavelength infrared vs. short wavelength ultraviolet. Like big valleys between the mountains of football climaxes vs. little crevasses between the frequent hills of basketball plays.

Some football fans criticize basketball because they prefer having time to think about strategy instead of constant action.

Constant action? A basketball game is timed for 48 minutes, yet takes 2.5 hrs to play. Soccer only has 15 minutes between halfs, no timeouts, and adds any time lost to no action.

The chants would have to be modified, but they would be much more fun than watching the in-game entertainment that the Blazers currently have.

No down time? Easy. chants during timeouts, between periods.

There, problem solved. You're welcome.

my favorite NBA Chant that unifies us... [video=youtube;dz9-WvkysQs]

If there's one positive from this season potentially being lost, it's that I won't have to hear "everybody clap your hands!" and "daaaaay-oh....."

or the Kooooooooooooooooooooooooooooobeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Bryant!

Or the Knicks organ music.
