Chad Ford of ESPN.com with some harsh words regarding Portland Trail Blazers guard Raymond Felton and Jamal Crawford...
--------------------
Let's just put this way. Either the Blazers find a new home for Raymond Felton and Jamal Crawford (who have quietly orchestrated a mutiny ever since Nate McMillan chewed them out in a video session a while back) or they'll probably have to let Nate go. If I'm a Blazer fan ... I'd rather lose Felton and Crawford. They won't get a lot for either guy, but there is such a thing as addition by subtraction.

As inconsistent as they've been, we're worse if we lose them for nothing

"addition by subtraction". what a fucking joke.

I have been frustrated, mad and sad at different Blazers teams but Im not sure that a team had ever made me feel this numb about what is going on. Like utter disbelief that it is this bad.

If they can't trade him fro anything, then I would just cut his lazy, fat ass...

and if its enough to break the status norm, fine. its better in the long run for a mutiny to happen.

Addition by subtraction doesn't work. Said the same thing with ZBO, yet here we are.

If we could get a pick for either player then that's actually getting an asset. And this isn't a Z-bo situation at all, neither of these guys is a real difference maker.

FWIW: I think Nate needs to go too.

Would felton be the MVP if he got Nate out of here?

No. He's always been a below average point guard except for a brief run in New York. Nate probably makes him worse, but he'd still suck even with Nate gone.

Felton, yes.

Crawford, No.

hear hear. We had less talent for most of last season, yet we had a much better record. Something went seriously wrong in this chemistry project.

you have to look at the coaching. perhaps Felton and Crawford are in the right here.

Crawford is a nice luxury player for a good team that needs some bench scoring, but he's absolutely not a guy that is going to impact this team one bit during a rebuilding phase: He's too old, he doesn't play D, and he's an unconscionable chucker.

the coaching is definitely a problem, but don't you think there's a reason both of these guys have bounced around the league like a beach ball?

There still isn't a huge need to rebuild. the core is there with Aldridge-Batum and some flexibility this coming summer. Its not as bad we think, just a coaching change needs to be made.

frankly, it doesn't matter that much to me. I could care less about Felton, but I would keep crawford. Even though he's a chucker, teams do need guys like that, they can't all be passive players who are scared to shoot.

We can rebuild, do whatever, but not much is going to change until the coaching staff is replaced. Its inevitable at this point. The dream is gone for that.

Canzano: I'm not buying Jamal Crawford as part of a "mutiny"... Crawford is obviously frustrated but is a pro. Felton has been dog, tho. Camby, too.

I can see this, Crawford seems pretty emo but he doesn't seem like he has a huge attitude problem and would do this. Felton I could see.

Crawford will not exercise his option this summer so he will be gone. We would not be crazy enough to sign Felton to a contract this summer so he is gone. There is no downside to trading these guys for 2nd round picks, if that is the best that we can do. If it hurts us for the rest of the year, that can only give us a better draft pick.

Exactly!!!

Also opens up playing time for Williams and Smith to see if they are players we can build upon.

If there's a coaching change, maybe Crawford would stay. Maybe not. I want him to finish his season here though. I don't like the idea of signing a free agent then dumping them halfway through a lockout shortened season. He's giving us what we expected him to, not a big surprise here.

I certainly don't want to help the lakers get beasley for steve blake. what the fuck, fuck that shit.

He is giving us what I expected as well, which is why I hated the signing from the beginning.
