Have any of you had crawlspace work done? We need to have our vapor barrier replaced and have some moisture issues in parts of the crawlspace. Most of the local contractors I've researched sell an "encapsulation"solution where they seal the foundation vents, install a thick high quality barrier, then install a sump pump and or dehumidifier.
I've also read that sealing the foundation vents is a bad idea because it will trap the moisture in the crawlspace. But I think as long as you have a dehumidifier in there too it should be ok, but they are spendy.
