Raja Bell is supposed to clear waivers today. He probably will be healthy by the end of the season, but I guess he wouldn't be eligible for playoff rosters. He might be a good role player for us next season. Maybe he can at least get a rise out of Kobe. Rumors are the Knicks are going to offer him a contract if he clears waivers. Is Raja even worth offering a contract? Is S-Bo still on the team or are we down to 14 players?

I'd take him in a second just for toughness. He can also knock down the 3 ball.

S-Bo became Travis Diener.

I'd do it. I advocated trading for him earlier in the season but didn't know he was injured. He's one of those annoying guys that you have to have on your team to get some swagger. Good defender, knocks down clutch shots....kind of a Matt Barnes/Bruce Bowen type.

Not a crazy thought at all. You know what you will get from him. Can't say the same for Rudy or Bayless night in and night out.

Is there a reason why he's played 6 games this year?

I always get Raja Bell, Rajon Rondo, Dino Radja and Boris Diaw confused.

Ok, just Raja bell and Boris Diaw.

The guy's 34 years old. He used to be pretty good on defense and an excellent 3pt shooter.

Heck, he was a great 3pt shooter last season in 67 games.

I guess the crazy part is that he won't be playoff eligible (right?) so it is really a move for next year. It might mess with the team chemistry for the playoffs. I think it would be worth the risk. It's not like this team is expected to get out of the first round anyway.

If we pick him up off waivers and he doesn't play this season how would it mess with team chemistry for the playoffs?

I was thinking it would be writing on the wall for some big changes in the offseason. Rudy/Bayless/Webster/Bell -- Someone's got to go.
