Critics warn Oregon will become the 'suicide tourism capital' of America after judge rules people no longer need to live in the state to go to one of its assisted suicide clinics
- A federal court ruled the Oregon's law requiring a person to be a resident to receive an assisted suicide was unconstitutional
- Critics fear that this will open the door for 'suicide tourism' as people can easily travel to the state to die
- Advocates say that this provides equal rights to people within the U.S. and hope laws in other states will be lifted as well
- Around 4,000 assisted suicide prescriptions were written from 1998 to 2017, almost all of them for white Americans
