Step 1. Nice

Now Cronin needs to do the right thing and shit can the Conductor
Who ya bringin’ in Chachi? Are you in the “Anybody is Better” crew like last time? I can’t remember .

I figured as long as the team remains under Jody, Joe will remain GM.

I got to meet with VP of Scouting, Mike Schmitz, a couple of weeks ago in a private chalk talk with about 6 other fans. It was amazing. Schmitz is the real deal. Hopefully, the Blazers are extending him too. He talked about Camara and Deni, and I firmly believe it was his voice that Cronin listened to when the Blazers made the moves they did last offseason.

I came away believing that no matter what happens with the draft lottery, the Blazers will find unique ways to add more talent to this roster.

Hopefully his voice wasn't somehow involved in preventing Ayton/Ant/Grant from being moved this past summer.

not really a surprise

won't be a surprise if Billups returns next season

and won't be a surprise if Simons and Ayton are re-signed in 2026

I am fine with extending Joe. He has made mistakes, but overall, I like the type of players he has brought in.
Although it could be that he just looks like a genius compared to some of the ideas floating around this board. Hard to say.

JoeCro had a vision of getting more athletic and long - and he executed on it, so I am happy with that - better have a FO that have a vision and is willing to execute on it as much as ownership will allow them.

(I guess NeO also had a vision and his vision was Dame and CJ, I think the JoeCro FO vision is a bit more coherent and has a higher potential )

I suspect Chauncy will be back - and he certainly has the team playing hard and playing good defense, but assuming he is coming back, the Blazers need an upgrade in the offensive playbook, especially in half-court offense - so something will need to be done there, maybe bring an offensive coordinator assistant to help with that.

Love hearing this! That's The kind of thing we need if we want to compete here. Especially if we're not going to be serious about draft lotto odds.

I'm actually good with Joe. I think he's doing a good job with what he has control over.

I did think the half-court offense looked better with Ayton in there. Especially during the dreaded 8-game win streak. I am hoping that all the other teams' GMs hate him as much as some of our fans, so we can resign him cheap. He and Deni were building some chemistry. I just think he and Clingan are a good combination. One for D and one for O.

Having said that, I am all for trading him for someone like Sabonis. But that seems unlikely.

Congrats to Joe! I've read that Bert Kolde might buy the Blazers too. Chauncey will get an extension now as well I'd guess unless he just doesn't want one.

As much as I'm not a fan of many if not most of Cronin moves with this roster - I really don't mind him getting an extension. The main problems with this teams management are Jody and Kolde who both are making as much or more decisions than Joe.

If we fired Cronin I don't see how we'd get a better GM. Might get one who's worse.

Wish we'd get rid of this Ant/Grant/Ayton trio and also stop sitting guys late in the season to tank while scrubs play. At least Ant/Ayton are expiring - although yeah I'm concerned they'll get overpaid extensions too.

That would be some kind of hoop for him to jump through beings his net worth is about 10 million. Not saying it cannot somehow happen but it would be a crazy bit of negotiating that made it so if it did.

I’m sure Jody can bankroll him. She’s got just under 30 billion and they are always together

Chris Quinn, but virtually anybody else would be better

Not the case either. She is not worth 30 billion.
The estate has money but Jody cannot afford the team.

Tuomas Iisalo. Unfortunately it's probably too late and the Grizzlies will have him locked up. I'd pay whatever it takes to get him. We probably should have done it before this season, IMO.

two years ago she was listed at 20.3 billion and she's sold more of Paul's assets since. last year I read she was worth around 28 billion...her worth, not Vulcan's. She can buy the Blazers several times over..she can also get the loan for Bert..who knows if she will but she definitely can. The interest alone on 20.3 billion adds up quickly.

False.

  • Jody Allen's Net Worth: Jody Allen's net worth is estimated at $1.6 billion.

Jody Allen’s net worth in 2024 stands at an impressive $20.3 billion, largely inherited from her late brother Paul Allen’s estate. Her wealth is bolstered by her ownership of the Seahawks, and the Portland Trail Blazers, worth $3.08 billion, along with a minority stake in the Seattle Sounders FC. (What I stated is cited all over the place as her net worth.)
