I know many, especially Rick, were/are hot on Morales... here is an interesting read comparing the two biggest bats left on the market.

Morales comes with his own baggage, though his in the form of injury history. The 30-year-old switch-hitter fractured his leg in 2010 while celebrating a walk-off grand slam and missed the better part of two seasons recovering from that freak accident. Morales has posted solid offensive numbers since returning (.275/.329/.457), but his production hasn't come close to matching that which he showed in 2009-10 (.303/.353/.548 in 203 games) prior to his injury.

It also goes on to discuss how neither are good defensively...

Food for thought and possible reasoning behind non-moves (so far)

I feel neither of these guys fit for the Yankees. What surprises me is that the offensive starved Mariners don't want Morales back. A switch-hitter who could provide some protection for Cano? Why spend 240 million to leave Cano on a ledge. Now, as a Yankee fan, lmao!!!

...said this about 3 times already, but "the Yanx are not going to commit to a long term contract for a player they may or may not need."

Understood, however the Mariners reluctance to sign him after their big splash with Cano makes no sense.

...I think maybe they're waiting for the price to drop on either him or Cruz.
