How do they have such a good record? They are starting Beaubois and Quinton Ross!!!!!!! WTF!

Cuban made some very bold statements this year about how good the Mavs would be (most talented they have been in a long time and believes they are going to challenge for the championship this year.) They may be surprising some around the league . . . but many fans in Dallas are getting what they expected.

Dallas is a very good defensive team (5th in the league) and a nice offensive team - with a superstar that plays like one this year. I am not buying the idea that they are a contender, yet, but they seem to be much improved from last year (and they gave us fits last year, Dirk is a real mismatch issue for us).

I also don't know if they are contenders, but here is a quote by Cuban in the pre-season:

When Mark Cuban says the team that the Dallas Maverickswill put on the floor for tonight's opener against the Wizards is more talented than his Finals squad, and Jason Terry calls the chemistry the best since he's been in Dallas, the question seems obvious:

Are ticket sales really that flat?

Anytime someone makes unsolicited comparisons with the best team in franchise history, you should be a little dubious about their intent.

But upon further review, the claims may not be a blatant attempt at hucksterism after all.

Coaching?

Dallas is 17th in SOS.
Portland is 21st

for Nate, who asked how hard their schedule has been.

Coaching?

Probably more of a "less adjustments". Their primary pieces are the same. They just upgraded the rooks etc..

Wayne Ellington (or whatever his name is) which used to be their stats expert commented why they went after their coach (too lazy to check for correct spelling here) - and commented that they noticed that he most often played his most efficient lines against them. He later commented on Portland's substitution lines and commented that they were very good as well, as far as the statistical evidence is.

So...

Hey, HCP, what kind of school did you go to for editing?

G State up 5 in the 3rd! Hope I don't jinx it!

I can't wait to see them with a healthy Howard and Marion.

Beaubouis might be fastest player I've ever seen with the ball in his hands. Lightning quick.

Gooden is a good addition. Marion is though he's out right now. And Dirk's always been good.

By the way, Ellis has ELEVEN turnovers right now against the Mavs.

I'll take 11 T.O.'s if he's getting me 38 pts,4 rebs, 8 dimes and 4 steals!

Warriors playing 6 guys! 3 players have played the entire game...Morrow, Ellis, Radmonivic. About to win.

Man I love parody! Makes the games that much more fun to watch!

Am I reading the box score correctly? G.S. only played SIX guys tonight? Are you kidding me?

Can you imagine if the Blazers were Dallas tonight? The beating they would take on the message boards . . . losing at home to the Warriors, who only played 6 guys AND blowing a 4th quarter lead at home against a team that played 6 guys?!!!

Mixum might just off himself.

It's got to be the coach. :D

I love parodies too, Airplane is still one of my all time favorite movies; Kareem is so funny as the co-pilot.

Did I spell that wrong?

FUCK! P.A.R.I.T.Y.!

the state or condition of being equal, esp. regarding status or pay : parity of incomes between rural workers and those in industrial occupations.
• the value of one currency in terms of another at an established exchange rate.
• a system of providing farmers with consistent purchasing power by regulating prices of farm products, usually with government price supports.
2 Mathematics (of a number) the fact of being even or odd.
• Physics the property of a spatial wave equation that either remains the same ( even parity) or changes sign ( odd parity) under a given transformation.
• Physics the value of a quantum number corresponding to this property.
• Computing a function whose being even (or odd) provides a check on a set of binary values.
