When LaMarcus Aldridge told The Oregonian that he intends to sign a maximum contract extension with the Trail Blazers next summer with the goal of ending his career in Portland, Damian Lillard couldn't help but smile.

"That was great news," Lillard said. "I think he's the best player on our team, well on his way to being the best Trail Blazer ever. I'm looking forward to the next five years, six years, seven years, eight years — however long it's going to be."
