Plenty of judges show distaste for the accused in a case.....I think what stands out to people who have a problem with this one is that she is female and an alpha type judge....if she were male would folks complain? I don't think so...she's retired military too..takes no bs
That's just the dumbest fucking thing you've ever posted. I HATE this guy.

I have a problem with cops belittling suspects. Most cops are men.

She was completely in line with her words to the guy in my view....and I could care less if you are making dumb charts about posts you disagree with.

If you go back, I complained when the male judge who gave a woman a felony for spanking her kids overstepped (in my mind) his bounds.
...the male judge who gave a repeated rapist 60 days...
...for those who give 9th-DUI offenders only 4 years...
who gave Water Polo Bro 90 days probation for raping someone because he felt bad for him or something. Judges are supposed to judge, got it. But I don't like Sonja Sotomayor's activism from the bench, because she thinks there's a better way. I don't like when judges allow emotion in their judgements. Again, I get it, and I don't think this judge is a piece of shit or anything (like some of the others), but for every one like this where I agree with what she did there's the opportunity for one I won't like as much, and my hypocrisy goes only so far.

cops? I have a problem with people worried about Larry Nassar's fragile mental state....fuck him.....and I'm glad he got taken down a peg by a strong woman in public.....Nassar is guilty....was guilty and deserved to be put in his place...not even in the same ballpark as a spanking children offense but I'm sure there are thousands of bad judges who abuse power...I don't think this is one of them at all....I give her a standing ovation

Bubba in cell block C will take care of that
I get it, but going back to what someone else posted above, jail isn't supposed to be a holding cell for shitbags who can't be trusted in society. It should be a place for separation from society (if you're temporarily dangerous) or rehabilitation from whatever got you put inside. I don't have a lot of sympathy for serial offenders. I also don't like that, heaven forbid HCP gets arrested for not reporting his S2 earnings to the IRS, he goes to Bubba prison (or OITNB), or whatever, where anything goes because some of the most vile pieces of shit ever to walk the globe have free reign b/c "it's prison, those dudes get what's coming". Eff that. Too many people are alive that shouldn't be, which is a root cause of many people not being alive who should.

I thought this was interesting that came up during his sentencing, apparently the county jail he has been held in during his trial has been using him as a doctor to provide medical care for other inmates. The judge issued an order that this was not to happen anymore. Should the jail be allowed to use someone like this to save money by providing free medical care to inmates, thus saving taxpayers?

Personally I think it's wrong, this man spent his adult life violating his hippocratic oath to do no harm.

Wow, I didn't know that.
I know it's not the law of the land, but I personally feel that after decades of child abuse and rape (and as you say, violating the Hippocratic Oath) he should be able to make peace with whatever deity or non-deity he chooses and be given a blindfold and a cigarette before the execution. Maybe he has some potential left to give to society. It's too bad he spent so much time digging a hole in society's debt by ruining the lives of others.

I don't know why I respond to your posts or you mine. I don't care about his mental state. I don't even know where you come up with the idea.

If I knew he couldn't harm anyone on purpose I'd make him give free medical care 15 hours a day. Since you can't, they should not use him as a doctor. Cleaning toilets? Sure thing.

To me jail should be a place where inmates have no internet, tv, etc....and are worked until exhausted doing hard labor...shouldn't be a free gym membership with a tattoo parlor

then don't....talk about subjects and not about me for a change and you'll see a difference..or not....I'm not making dumb charts about your posts...you make it personal

It also shouldn't be a place where you're in fear for your life.

That would be difficult in death row...everday would be filled with that fear...I don't think a non violent prisoner who cheated on his taxes or sold some pot should be lumped in with a rapist or murderer...jailers should control prison violence but....they usually don't

Maybe stuff like this crosses your mind.
But the average person has no issues with women speaking their mind, nor standing up/speaking out for what they believe in.
This type of thought process you referenced is thankfully is dying off.
As the generations who thought this way are entering retirement, already retired or in some cases already gone.

David Munoz Diaz, charged with murder in the June 10, 2011, killing of Freddy Roberto Canul-Arguello. He was arrrested Thursday on suspicion of attempted murder and arson charges.

A San Francisco man with convictions in high-profile arson cases, including one in which he burned the body of a sexual partner, was arrested this week on suspicion of attempted murder as well as several counts of arson, authorities said.

David Munoz Diaz, 28, was booked into San Francisco County Jail at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, records show. Police did not immediately provide details about his latest alleged crime.

Diaz is well-known to city law enforcement. He was arrested and charged with murder in the June 2011 death of Freddy Canul-Arguello after the victim’s body was found burned in Buena Vista Park.

A San Francisco Superior Court jury, however, cleared Diaz of the murder allegation in 2014 while returning a guilty verdict on a lesser charge of involuntary manslaughter. Diaz was also convicted of arson and sentenced to time served.

Diaz’s attorneys had argued that he accidentally killed Canul-Arguello while choking him during a sexual encounter at a hook-up spot, and then ignited the fire to signal help.
Though the jury came back with an arson conviction, Judge Donald Sullivan set it aside over prosecutors’ objections, noting that Diaz had no previous criminal record and was unlikely to set another fire.
Had Diaz been convicted of arson, he would have been forced to register in a state arsonist database.
Shortly after Diaz’s release from jail, San Francisco authorities responded to a string of arson fires that terrorized the Castro district over a four-month period, starting in late 2014. Many of these fires remain unsolved.
But in January 2015, Diaz was charged with setting a fire that month at Up Hair salon in the Castro, which was owned by his boyfriend. Diaz was also charged with a December 2014 fire that damaged the boyfriend’s car and a third count of possessing of an incendiary device.
Diaz was convicted in the case, sentenced to a year of mandatory supervision in September 2016, and required to register as an arsonist.
Two months later, he was accused of a vicious attack in San Francisco in which he allegedly handcuffed the victim, bit a chunk out of his scalp, cut his tongue and slit his nose, ear and lip. Diaz pleaded guilty to false imprisonment and was sentenced to five years of probation.
