This club is certainly putting themselves in position to make a run at a playoff spot. That 1-5 against San Diego and Chicago was a killer but perhaps it can be overcome. With the offense doing some good things if they get the pitching this isn't a deficit that cannot be overcome.

Followed the game on a smart phone because the club I was in was filled with Rays Band Wagon jumpers and they would not put the Yankees game on the other TV. Everyone knows I'm a Yankees fan and I caught a lot of crap over Arod. Looked like Andy threw a nice game last night, I'll apologize to Reynolds and thanks for the contribution. I guess the Bostons found out last night that this is not the same team they played earlier in the season. Got a bit concerned over Joba Chambermaids base cleaning antics why is that man still being used. As we all know anything can happen ask the Tigers about that double dip sweep yesterday. Hope for a good one from Kuroda San today, go Yankees!

...maybe the people who were clamoring to be sellers at the deadline and give up on the season, will finally realize that it was not a logical action. The Yanx are not and never have been the type of franchise like the Marlins et al, who routinely dismantle their team and start over. The market and fanbase won't allow that sort of thing. And maybe these same people will understand that moves and acquisitions don't always have to be big ones. Sometimes bench/platoon/situation players are very important parts of the roster...and sometimes little moves produce big results.

When they mentioned our w-l record last night on the mlb network and if we were to continue to play 4 or 5 games above .500, you would have to go back to 1991. 22 Years of success, I try to get my head around that and equate it to any other of the major sports. I am for change, cause moves are necessary this off-season, I hate the fact that we are going to repeat the sins of the past with Cano, cause we have no choice that makes sense. We all knew Ben Francisco type moves were not the answer. But here we are, mid August, and we are scoring runs, Arod is on the front page again and not because of HR's, We all hate Stewart, and we will be watching today. 22 years, need I say more. 59's point is proven with 22 years and counting... Keep in mind gentlemen that we have several teams to jump over. But with so many games within our own division anything can happen. We need to get Hughes out of the rotation though. I would have suggested to give Hughes spot to Claiborne but to late for that. At this point ANYONE could do better then Hughes.

I checked the schedules for New York, Boston, Baltimore, and Tampa Bay all pretty much equally tough. Can't leave Toronto out, they don't pitch all that well but they have a good lineup. Though the Yankees have Achillies Heels so do the others in one for or another.
