Apparently the Sixers and Saric's Euro club have agreed on a buyout and he's coming over this year. Colangelo has already admitted that they're going to have to trade somebody because their frontcourt is ridiculously stacked:
Embiid
Okafor
Noel
Ben Simmons
Saric
Richaun Holmes
Christian Wood (looked very good in SL)

They really should roll the dice on trading for Westbrook. Or failing that, maybe Brandon Knight?

Christian Wood signed with the Hornets. PHI probably couldn't put up much of a fight though because of that logjam.

Philli is going to be a nice team this year. Sergio, Saric, Simmons and all their bigs Noel/Embid/Okafor - the T-Wolves of the east.

I would make a call to his agent first. I would not waste a trade asset on someone who would no way in hell resign after one year.
Plus would Westbrook and Simmons work very well together?

more pressure to move Okafor or Noel and perhaps accept a cheaper price?

You hope they'd develop a Jordan/Pippen type of rapport, with Westbrook taking on much of the volume scoring and Simmons being the glue that holds everything together from a front court spot.

The main problem with the pairing is that neither guy is a great perimeter shooter.

I just can't see Simmons being as effective if you take the ball out of his hands. And Westbrook would.

Huh. I kind of like what Cho's doing for the Hornets, and not just because they got Batum. They've built a nice little team in a pretty small market. Still too many BWS though.

I don't think that's going to happen

What's Simmons going to do w/o the ball? Is he running off screens for his jump shot? Yeah... no; teams would LOVE this & PHI would have a worse record vs. last yr. since the order has come down to have Simmons take a ton of shots when he has them (teams WILL give him plenty on purpose & Simmons WILL miss plenty w/o developing THIS way:wink:). Repeatedly posting Simmons won't work bc of all their bigs/spacing so... w/ RW the only thing that works is to hit Simmons on the break or lobs how ever they come @ the rim.

In summation, RW makes no sense for PHI w/ Simmons; Simmons NEEDS the ball in his hands (@ least for a few years for sure) to be effective/the player he's supposed to be.

Dunno about Korkmaz (ask Fez) but I'm high on TLC. Paul George-shaped athlete who could develop into a very solid player, but is currently pretty raw. However, he's got the basic tools and is unselfish and has court vision even if his handle is a little shaky right now. Probably a better shooter right now than Simmons, too.

Yeah but... did you see who was defending him? If he can do that with a hand in his face and a body up against him... then hell yeah. Beast!
It looked like Hakeem but a ferocious dunk instead of a beautiful jumper. We need players who can do this and stay healthy. Steph Curry is fun to watch but this stuff is what I like to see.

He was considered an Olajuwon-like talent, it was just health that scared people off him. And health has been a big problem. I hope he actually manages to put those issues behind him and doesn't go the way of Oden.

With Saric and Simmons they could run some very experimental offense. They could also start two shooting guards in the backcourt.
