Lillard just posted this on Instagram about Blazer assistant coach David Vanterpool.

damianlillard - We all have those people that come along and make a difference in your life. I have multiple people like that, but over the last two HUGE years of my life this guy @david_vanterpool has been that. Pushes me, criticizes me, gets on me, and demands my best. It's special to be able to do those things and come back and lift someone up, give them confidence, light a fire under them , be a coach to them, and be family to them. That's why I love my guy beyond hoop. Glad I learned at a early age not to take special bonds for granted... #Salute #YouAreAppreciated #ThankYou

He's only recently retired as a player. It was a little odd that they alternated having him and Nate Tibbetts coach Summer League. But he certainly sounded coachly when they had him miked up.

Nice Dame. I know when I saw Dame warming up with Vanterpool out there that it was non stop talking about how to improve, mixed in with jovial laughing and sitting-on-the-bench threes.

No, I think it's the opposite. Our star just tied his results and his heart directly to this guy. Basically guaranteeing he stays with the Blazers, or at least making sure the Blazers try and keep him around. I bet Miami wished they haven't cut Mike Miller to save a couple bucks. Part of the price of keeping stars is keeping who those stars like.

It's based on time here. So someone who has 3 posts and started from 2007 would have more than someone with 100,000 posts and started in 2008.
