I don't watch too many TV shows but Deadliest Warrior is one I don't miss. I am hooked on it.

Spike has had a lot of shitty original programming over the last few years (Manswers, anyone?) but this one is actually good. It is big and loud and silly but strangely gratifying, like your mother.

If you haven't seen it they somewhat arbitrarily take two "warriors" from history and compare them. They test their weapons and tactics with experts then punch the results into a computer program which simulates a battle between the two 1000 times. The winner is the one with the majority of kills.

Last season they had a lot of interesting warriors including Spartans, The IRA, ninjas, pirates, etc.. They did a decent job of pairing the warriors to make it as fair a fight as possible but a lot of people complained that the match-ups were skewed. An example of a good match-up was The Mafia vs. The Yakuza. A bad one was Apache vs. Gladiator.

The new season began tonight with a rehash of the last followed by two new warriors, American SWAT vs. Border Guard Group 9 (GSG9). Pretty even fight.

The problem is that in the first season they used up a lot of the best warrior types. Perhaps they didn't know if the show would be renewed so they blew their wad. Now they are scraping a bit with less interesting warriors.

Check it out Tuesdays on SpikeTV @ 10:00PM.

I really like this show too, but mainly during the testing bits, the final battle and results are sometimes lame and don't really mean much. (to me at least) I haven't really followed it regularly so I'll have to dl them soon, especially the special they aired last night before the premiere of season two. The preview said the episode pits the best warriors from season one against each other which sounds pretty awesome.

It's a great show, yesterday they had SWAT vs GSG9 (same as swat but in Germany)

Yeah... the acting is corny and the choreography is amateurish... but it's only the last three-four minutes anyway.

The second episode of the season aired tonight: Atilla the Hun vs. Alexander the Great. I thought this was one of the most well-matched fights so far for the show.

Nice, awesome show. Didnt catch the episode. Hulu away!

Jesse James vs. Al Capone tonight.

Kind of a retread with Capone's weapons and style already done by the mafia last season. The guys representing organized crime were dicks, too.

Not the best match-up.

Pirate vs. Knight was one of the worst match-ups the show did last year. Why not pirate vs. cowboy/Jesse James?

Who won last night Viet Cong of the German SS? That flame thrower was wicked.

Pretty good show. I like the history of the weapons used by various conquerers, cultures etc.

The Nazi's won by a pretty decent margin. Battle of the SMGs.
