Lillard's inclusive leadership could make Portland a destination

"Whatever the narrative was this offseason about our expectations and our projected win totals, and about what we lost, Damian never set a tone that this was a rebuilding year," Trail Blazers president of basketball operations Neil Olshey says. "A lot of our guys are having career years. A lot of that is what they do on the floor with Damian, but also how he treats and embraces them and empowers them to be more than what other people might have thought they were."
Damian Lillard is the guy you want to play with.

Dame is like the opposite of Melo when it comes to leadership. I never get a feeling that Melo gives a damn about his teammates. Switch them and we don't make playoffs this year but I bet Knicks do.

Dame is certainly more than just his stats. I can't think of another Blazer that has ever embraced the city and the leadership role as much as Dame has.

On top of that, he's just fun to watch play.
