When observing this years playoff race, one thing I have noticed is that Denver is starting to skid. I don't know if it is the Kenyon Martin injury, the George Karl medical issues becoming a distraction, but is it possible the best playoff position to shoot for, is to matchup with Denver.
They have lost 2 in a row, losing to what I consider inferior opponents.
If Denver skids, they won't be in #2 much longer. But the question remains, where will they end up. I could see them skidding to 4th very easily. But it would be hard for Portland to move to to 5. Not impossible, but hard.
IMO Denver is a superior team to Portland...but sometimes timing is everything.
