Did Penn write the Miles letter?

Some of the things used to describe Penn could also used in describing the letter that got sent out to all the GM's telling them not to sign Darius Miles.

Makes no difference if he wrote it or not. Miller sent it, Miller outranked Penn, ergo Miller is responsible, even if Penn penned it.

OK, I see what you're saying. Could he have had a hand in drafting it? Maybe...but that's not the kind of thing that gets drafted / sent out without being approved higher up than TP... probably with PA's knowledge.

Agreed. Even if Penn wrote it, either it was approved and sent by someone higher up or Penn sent it of his own accord without consulting anyone.

In the first case, the higher-up is responsible, because it was his decision to send it.

In the second case, Penn likely would have been fired on the spot, not well over a year later.

There is no way a subordinate sends out a letter threatening a potential lawsuit against another NBA team without running that thing WAY WAY up the internal flagpole...so I like option 1

Me too. I was just saying that in the extremely remote chance that Penn went rogue, I doubt he'd have kept his job until now.
