A Walt Disney World guest was arrested and charged with battery for allegedly groping a princess character while taking a photo, a police report confirms.

Brian Sherman, 51, was visiting the park with his wife around 12:10 p.m. on Saturday when the pair went to take photos with Disney World characters at the grotto area of the Magic Kingdom.

During the photo, Sherman and his wife sat on either side of the Disney World employee, who was dressed as a Disney princess. Before the photo, Sherman repeatedly told the woman the princess she was portraying “is my favorite.” The type of Disney princess she was costumed as was not shared.

According to a police report shared with Fox News, Sherman “placed his right arm around” her shoulder, making her “immediately uncomfortable.” As her co-worker was tending to the line, Sherman allegedly lowered his arm until he was cupping the woman’s bra.

Other cast members told Sherman to pose in a different way so he would not be touching the woman. However, before moving, the man placed his hand under the woman’s costume and cupped her breast with his right forefinger and thumb “with only the thin skin-tight fabric” between, police said.

The Disney PhotoPass photographer took the pictures, which the employees used to identify the man to law enforcement.

Once Sherman left, the woman “began shaking and crying” and the grotto area was closed immediately, according to the report.

The Disney princess reported the incident, which she said lasted about four seconds, and police officers were called to the scene. Sherman was arrested and charged with battery.

In a statement to Fox News, a representative for Disney World said police handled the incident as soon as it was brought to their attention.

“Orange County Sheriff’s Office was on site and immediately stepped in, and this is now a law enforcement matter. Everyone should feel safe at work, and we encourage Cast Members to come forward in any uncomfortable situation.”

Looking at the picture Snow White is wearing what appears to be a one piece dress.

You kind of hinted that it might be some other character but the addition of Snow White did confuse the issue.
 
I read the guys name and two things instantly came to mind.

1. Old creepy white guy
2. Who the fuck does this?

And I was right on #1.

the NY Post (grain of salt here) is saying he's a registured sex offender. Apparently he committed sexual battery against someone under the age of 12 back in 1991 (when he was still in his early 20's).
 
I've been considering this for awhile, and I think it's about time I have a career change. Deep down, I've always wanted to be a Disney character!!! Sounds like they have good benefits too.

The woman inside the Mickey Mouse costume went to the hospital with neck injuries caused by a grandmother patting the character's head, while the employees wearing the Minnie Mouse and Donald Duck costumes were groped by tourists, according to Orange County Sheriff's Office reports.

The incidents come after a 51-year-old man was arrested in November after an employee portraying a Disney Princess told investigators he groped her breast while getting a photo taken.

“Everyone should feel safe at work, and we encourage Cast Members to come forward in any uncomfortable situation,” said Disney spokeswoman Andrea Finger in a statement. “We provide multiple resources to protect our Cast Members’ well-being, including on-site law enforcement officers who respond, and are available to them, if needed.”

A 36-year-old woman who plays Mickey Mouse at the Magic Kingdom told investigators a woman patted the head of her costume five times, causing it to slide down and strain her neck, the Orlando Sentinel reported.

The employee told investigators she didn't believe the woman intentionally hurt her, and the sheriff’s office ruled the Dec. 4 incident a civil matter, not a criminal one.

The tourist's family said they weren’t aware the employee had been taken to the hospital until they were contacted by the newspaper Thursday.

Boone Scheer told the Sentinel his mother-in-law patted Mickey to prove to her nearly 2-year-old nervous grandson that he shouldn't be scared of the giant rodent.

“She barely touched him,” said Scheer, adding his mother-in-law wouldn’t intentionally hurt Mickey Mouse. “It was very minimal.”

The family was confused whether Disney has a no-touching rule for the costumed characters, since they give high-fives and hugs to visitors, he said.

Scheer said no one at the park said anything to them after until hours later, when they tried to check into their Disney hotel. Disney interviewed his wife, and “they definitely tried to insinuate it was on purpose,” said Scheer.

The same day, the 36-year-old Disney employee who portrays Minnie Mouse posed for pictures with a man and his wife from Minnesota. Minnie Mouse gave the man a hug and he groped her chest three times, according to the sheriff’s incident report.

She alerted her supervisors and identified pictures of Gary Obermoller, a 61-year-old man from Brewster, Minnesota. She decided against pressing charges.

In a phone interview, Obermoller denied the accusation and told The Associated Press on Friday that the woman had misidentified him.

“I'm not saying that it did not happen — I'm just saying it wasn't me who did it,” Obermoller said.

But it wasn’t the only time Obermoller's name was raised by Disney World employees during his trip. He also had “an inappropriate interaction with a cast member” Dec. 5 at the Magic Kingdom, according an incident report that didn’t provide any additional details. Disney declined to elaborate and Obermoller said he did not know what the alleged incident involved.

Disney took some action to ban the man, who is a Disney Vacation Club member, from the theme parks. “As a result, he was trespassed from all of Walt Disney World property, to exclude the Saratoga Springs resort,” the sheriff’s report said.

On Dec. 3, deputies received a call about a guest mistreating a costumed character at an Animal Kingdom restaurant. A woman in her 60s asked if she could kiss Donald Duck, the incident report said.

Donald Duck agreed, but the situation escalated as the 18-year-old employee playing the character said the woman began touching and grabbing the character’s arms, chest, belly, and face. The employee moved toward another Disney employee for help, but the woman followed her, holding on, and then “frantically” put her hands inside the character’s costume, touching her chest, the incident report said.

The woman’s family shouted for her to stop and the attendant led the employee to the break room.

The employee later decided not to press charges, telling authorities she believed the woman, who wasn’t identified in the report, may have dementia.

I saw an article awhile back about some kids at Disneyland or World that saw a disney character take off his mask behind the scenes to reveal a human head underneath...scared the shit out of them apparently.

The person patting the head was described as having dementia. This says to me that the pat might have been repeatedly excessive. One would really need to know more before deciding if the strain was legitimate or not.

No, the person who accosted the 18-year-old in the Donald Duck costume had dementia. The person who patted Mickey's head was perfectly fine, and was simply trying to get her grandchild to not fear the costumed character.

Blaming the alleged neck injury on one person patting the head feels ridiculous to me. Seems much more likely to me that the employee was going to file a worker's comp claim, and Disney searched park security footage to find a guest they could blame.
 
Everything Disney does appears to be purposely marketed to attract pedophiles, so no surprise here.
