From mail bombs to "art" of severed heads of the President to making statements of wanting to fight politicians "Face to Face".

Do you denounce all threats of violence against US Politicians?

I renounce all threats to commit felonies. Now it's Trump's turn.

People in this forum have made statements wanting to go face to face with Trump

If they are actually being serious, then i stand by my statement.
But what’s said in a forum about what one would do is often not the same as what would actually happen, given the situation were to present itself.

Ill add that i think it is perfectly human to have moments of rage or hatred that might bring this thought on, but as the moment passes, the thought should not continue. Rational, kind, positive thoughts should prevail. I think we have all had a moment of irritation from another where we want to stop the irritation by punching the perp in the mouth. But that thought shouldnt be permanent.

Absolutely!
Both sides have instigated violence enough and it should stop!
But the real questions is? Can this Country ever come together with two parties that have such hatred toward one another? I not sure and it wouldn't matter who is President, as the media is profiting big time by creating the angst and frenzy.

When the police officers in Dallas were ambushed in by a radical and you watched the different stations it was amazing to me how different they were in their take and condemnation and lack of.

If you start targerting the politicians you vote into office with violence they will start arming themselves or looking for protection from quack pot, fringe political organizations. Do you want the capital turn into Burkina Faso or El Salvador in the 70's and 80's?

(I used those examples because they were rife with coup d'etats. We have plenty of violence in the US. But as far as I know we haven't slaughtered the entire Executive Cabinet.)

What about threats of violence? Such as a rap video showing Trump getting shot
What about it? You'd have to be on an extreme fringe to support that sort of broadcast.
How many extreme Left fringes are there? Now, how many extreme Right fringes are there? Which side has the preponderance of participants?
Does our PRESIDENT set a good example? Do the leaders of our Republican party remand the President for his blind angry dangerous remarks?

Edit: Corrected typo.

I've always lived by this axiom. "Politics are personal. But don't make them too personal."

Its gone way beyond too personal.

Too personal is blocking someones path without a permit. Ie laying down or forming lines in roads. Acts of violence are way beyond too personal.

I think our ancestors would laugh at what we consider violence worthy compared to thier fight for independence and the abolishment of slavery.
Humans have more rights than ever before in this country. Maybe too many with how more and more we abuse the fringe rights for personal gain.
Or use these rights to hide behind while in the midst of selfish and rude acts or behavior.

But by and large what the differences are that pull the parties apart are miniscule in comparison to the issues of our history that sparked violence

But then again. Isnt all war based on or founded by political differences?

Yeah. I've got friends who've frozen out life long acquantances because of their political beliefs. And then share these kind of sick jokes with me at their expense. I don't know how to react any more really. My grandfather who helped raised me was conscientious objector and spent time in prison for his beliefs. He was the bravest man I ever met but it was a different kind of bravery. He always drilled in me. "YOU HATE NOBODY. You just dislike certain things they do." That kind of tolerance is I think gone. Maybe we never had it. IDK. All I do know is I miss my grandfather's way of with people.

There were lots of conscientious objectors (CO) in my last unit in the Army. One refused to go to Vietnam. They put him in the stockade and mistreated him. He went on a hunger strike and they put him in the hospital where they force fed him. They required guards on him 24 hours. They made me, a friendly acquaintance of him, one of his armed guards. He got a hold of his Akai tape recorder and we listened to the Moody Blues for hours and hours. The Moody Blues still bring back nostalgic moments for me.

One of my best friends in the Army went all the way through OCS (Officer Candidate School) and with the easiest part, the last week to go, he declares himself a conscientious objector. I thought he had guts.

Me, I'm philosophically opposed to declaring myself a CO.

Stupid fucking question. Just trying to avert blame from the Trump and the right who actually incites multiple attempted assassinations cause a couple posters think Trump deserves an asskicking (yet would never actually attempt to do that, just bluster). You are wrong, you support someone who is destroying this nation and turning it into a violent game show, bravo.

Is that a no?

So uhhhhhhh.......don't you think the crazy bomb guy might have thought the people he sent bombs to were destroying this country?

Anyone who thinks Trump is "destroying" this country is either delusional or has a very very low opinion of 350 plus million people.

On the other hand...

ORANGE MAN BAD

Why a low opinion of 350+ Million? Why not the 63 Million that voted for him?

No.

They should all be run out of town on a rail. All of them.
