Stop talking as if Batum is a core player. I know we all love him, but he has proven just as much as Bayless and Rudy has. I know you guys don't like to hear it, but he has been incosistent just like with the rest.

I want to see more before we crown him as the next Scottie Pippen. He makes a good point about consistency. So do you with him only playing 9 games. But I tend to lean towards his thoughts on the matter.

I'm not crowning him the next Scottie Pippen. Lets keep it in context though, the guy is built like a giraffe, has great footwoork on defense, can glide to the hoop with ease and is hitting his jumper regularly. He's shooting 56% from the field and 44% from the 3 point land, hardly inconsistent. Because he gets burnt a couple times by a 6'11" player thats leading the league in scoring, I'm hardly going to fault him.

Did I mention he's 21?

Bayless is 21 to, what does that mean? People rip on Bayless for his inconsistency (maybe not "rip" on, but are quick to pick it out) and the same thing can happen with Batumm but people are still creaming thereselves over him. That is fine, but his faults should be pointed out as well and he shouldn't be viewed anything other than a young guy who has shown nice flashes an perhaps in a couple years can be looked at as a key/core piece. It is quite clear he is an inconsistent player right now, there really is no arguement about it currently. It is fine that he inconsistent because young guys tend to be, but he in no way should be valued as a core piece yet especially if you can trade him for a huge upgrade like a Bosh (not going to happen, but a player like Bosh is what I mean).

Even when brandon comes back it wont be enough to make the playoffs. He knows it. He already has his excuse with injuries but 30 wins at the all star break should be enough to convince him our season isnt over but hes scared to move his guys that hes in love with.

I know you guys will never admit it but Rudy and BAyless are not that special and i doubt ever will be. This team is too streaky and needs a more consistent way to score. If Houston make that trade the its goodnight for us. Right now its between us the grizz and rockets.

We really need to keep our team in the playoffs... not getting a spot sets us back big time. Nobody looks back and says they had injuries... just that we didnt get in. I thin kpee has sent up the white flag. 30-25 is amazing for the talent we have. oh and the clippers is a must win.

If Rudy, Martell, Blake, TO and Bayless are "core players, " this team is doomed. Those guys all need to be on the table if we want to make an impact deal.

The core players are Roy, Oden and maybe Batum. LMA played his way out of consideration.

Rudy and Bayless have potential to be great role players for the Blazers, usually most cores consist of guys that can help teams, not just super stars. You guys may have some homer hatred towards all those guys, but all of those guys are above average rotation guys for the roles they do (lone exception is Blake). Rudy and Bayless are both only in their 2nd year, most NBA players don't fully develop consistency, or their game in general until at least their 4th year in the league. Around their 5th year is when they're a finished project, so I wouldn't be booting Rudy and Bayless quite yet because they aren't consistently producing in the sophomore year.

The problem with some of our fans is that almost all of our players are in that low experience range, and when some players don't perform as well as others at the same stage, "they'll just never get there." If our team were made up of veterans, we'd be lauding those young players for being able to see the court.

As per usual, he made some comments earlier in the year about how the Blazers look good enough to make the playoffs...he does that in an attempt to have something to bitterly rail at the Blazers for disappointing.

I'm pretty convinced that MIXUM is a gimmick poster (and for those who will no doubt ask why he isn't banned then, I do not unilaterally decide who to ban, and anyway, I prefer not to ban people who aren't abusive).

My advice is to either enjoy his gimmick or ignore him.

Individually, the Blazers have some nice pieces. The problem is, the pieces don't quite fit.

A) Something needs to be done about the center situation. Howard is old, Oden is injury prone, and Joel is both.

B) The team has a bunch of guys who are good 3rd or 4th options on offense - but no 2nd option.

The result is a team that is maddeningly incosistent. They can look great one night, and hideous the next.
