Dodger pitching legend Don Newcombe died today. Gave Dodgers a championship identity.
One of the last links with the original Brooklyn Dodgers in an era of Roy Campanella and
Jackie Robinson. Was former National League MVP & Cy Young winner. R.I.P.

and here I thought Don had passed away years ago.....

As the Fenale Gospel Singer sang, "Another Man Done Gone". "Newk" heads up some pretty good Dodger Staffs in his time. RIP Sir you were one of the best!!!!!!!!!

I don't remember him.

You weren't a twinkle in your Momma and Daddy's eyes yet... :biglaugh:
Were you old enough to see the incredible flame throwing Koufax?...

The Bums under Alston were pretty impressive.
Under Lasorda, they were a ragtag bunch of pretenders, less Bob Welch maybe Fernando "pepsi/taco/pepsi/taco" - (repeat endlessly) Valuenzuela....
